HealthRIGHT 360’s residential substance use disorder (SUD) program is a new program contracted with Department of Public Health’s (DPH) Substance Abuse Prevention and Control (SAPC) program for residential drug Medi-Cal (DMC) services for up to 99 adult men and women: 33 that are for men who are judicially involved, 33 for men, and 33 for women. The program is located on the campus of Martin Luther King Jr. Hospital in the Willowbrook area of South Los Angeles and will serve all LA County residents.
The Operations Supervisor assists with the day-to-day functions of the site, including clerical, technical and administrative support. The Operations Supervisor supervises and manages staff to ensure provision of quality client care and effective team performance to meet agency goals in accordance with HealthRIGHT 360’s philosophy, goals, policies, mission and vision. The Operations Supervisor is responsible for overseeing client care as it relates to staff scheduling, customer service, outside agency relations, and other tasks as assigned by the Manager, as well as other daily activities essential to incorporating the agencies mission and values as a part of our service delivery.
The Operations Supervisor must have supervisory experience.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
People Management:
- Responsible for providing direct supervision, training, and guidance to the support staff assigned.
- Ensures all direct reports are in compliance with HR 360 policies, procedures and position expectations and performance goals.
- Gives ongoing feedback and conducts formal performance evaluations in a timely manner.
- Identifies the direct reports strengths and areas for improvement and strives to develop each direct report to their fullest potential.
- Delivers and arranges trainings and resources required for direct reports to perform their roles.
- Provides coaching, support, and performance management to direct reports to ensure productivity/client care expectations are met.
- Supports the manager in interviewing, selection, hiring and terminations for positions within program.
- Responsible for direct report performance management including, performance improvement plans, formal written warning notices.
- Supports the manager in terminations of direct reports as needed.
- Maintains open communication with the Manager concerning employee matters/needs and seeks consultation when needed.
- Responsible for scheduling and facilitating team meetings as applicable to support client care and staff development.
Program Management:
- Manages day to day program administrative operations and oversight of assigned project(s) and facility.
- Responsible for all facility related matters to ensure that program(s) operate efficiently and safely.
- Assumes ownership for any facility or program crisis situation and sees it through to completion.
- Understands HealthRIGHT 360’s strategic vision and finds ways to implement and execute the vision at the treatment services level.
- Responsible for compliance with all programmatic or project contractual requirements.
- Responsible for compliance with all environmental, safety and health requirements of the program(s) assigned.
- Develops and maintains policies and procedures as it relates to day-to-day program operations in collaboration with QI and EHR staff.
- Implements improvements in the integration of behavioral health services to improve the quality and continuum of client care.
- Implements new and innovative programs in compliance with HealthRIGHT 360s’ policies and procedures.
- Works collaboratively with all level staff across programs.
- Attends external program specific meetings and events to ensure that the program is in compliance and is kept up to date on trends related to client treatment and care and to represent HealthRIGHT 360.
- Serves as a Health and Safety Officer for the program.
- Other duties as assigned.
Direct Service:
- Direct Service as necessary and within scope of practice, which may include: crisis intervention, customer service, and any interface that direct reports may have with clients.
- Assumes ownership for any crisis situation as it relates to service delivery and sees it through to completion.
EDUCATION AND KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES QUALIFICATIONS
Education Requirements
- High school diploma with at least 5 years of relevant administrative experience, including at least 2 years of supervisory experience.
- Must be registered/certified as AOD in state of California and in good standing.
OR
- Bachelor of Arts or Sciences degree from an accredited college or university, and an AOD Certification from an accrediting professional organization, and 2 year of administrative experience, with at least 1 year supervising others.
OR
- Has a Master’s of Social Work, Master’s in Marriage and Family Therapy or Master’s in Professional Clinical Counseling and registered or licensed with the Board of Behavioral Sciences with at least 1 year of supervising others.
Experience
- Experience providing supervision to direct service providers in comparable size agencies with similar clients.
- Experience with efficient and effective treatment and management of clients with co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders.
- Knowledge of and experience with providing trauma informed services
- Strong computer skills, including Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint
Background Clearance
Must complete a background check and livescan clearance
Knowledge
Required:
-Culturally competent and able to work with a diverse population
-Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, specifically Word Outlook and internet applications
-Experience working successfully with issues of substance abuse, mental health, criminal background, and other potential barriers to economic self sufficiency
