Position: Youth Support Specialist

Shifts Available:

  • 1st Shift: 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM
  • 2nd Shift: 3:00 PM – 11:00 PM
  • 3rd Shift: 11:00 PM – 7:00 AM

Some variances to schedule should be expected

Pay: From $17.50 / hour

A Day in the Life:

As a Youth Support Specialist, you’ll play a pivotal role in creating a therapeutic and supportive atmosphere. In this rewarding role, you’ll directly support the physical and emotional needs of the children under our care, fostering growth and development while ensuring their safety and well-being.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Providing direct care intervention and support to children during various activities such as life skills training, recreational activities, studying and chores
  • Transporting clients to appointments and community activities
  • Collaborating with team members to maintain a safe and secure environment
  • Assisting with meal preparation, medication administration and coordinating home visits
  • Supporting residents in developing positive social skills and managing crisis situations

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • Bachelor's degree in human service field (Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, Criminal Justice) preferred
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Valid driver's license with a clear driving record required
  • Experience working with recovery-based treatment plans and behaviorally oriented programs preferred
  • Ability to thrive in a challenging yet rewarding environment, maintaining positive relationships with clients, families and team members
  • Strong documentation skills and ability to accurately record interactions and observations
  • Plan, develop and implement program policies, objectives and procedures
  • Flexibility to work in various settings and environments
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs as needed
