A Day in the Life: 

The Home of the Innocents, Kosair for Kids Complex Care Center is a skilled nursing facility that provides short-term, long-term, and respite care for pediatric residents with a wide range of medical, developmental, and physical needs. These include congenital abnormalities, traumatic injuries, developmental disabilities, self-harming behaviors, seizures, and complex respiratory and cardiovascular conditions.

We are currently seeking a dedicated RN, Nurse Manager for our Respiratory Care Unit. The ideal candidate will oversee the daily operations of the Nursing Department, offering leadership, support, and professional growth opportunities to our team. This role is essential in ensuring the highest standards of care for our residents while maintaining full compliance with all relevant regulations and standards.

 

RN Nurse Manager Schedule:

Flex Schedule, Monday-Friday, 40 hours/Week, Rotating on-call availability

 

RN Nurse Manager Responsibilities:

  • Lead and support Nurses, CNAs, RCAs, and team members with professionalism and compassion, while ensuring team satisfaction, safety, and development.
  • Oversee daily operations of the assigned unit, set goals, and collaborate with peers, physicians, and healthcare professionals to maintain resident wellness and quality care.
  • Supervise Nursing Department operations, serving as House Manager on assigned shifts, and ensure adequate staffing for safe, person-centered care.
  • Manage and evaluate care plans, addressing any deficiencies or concerns, and participate in quality initiatives to maintain high standards.
  • Assist in direct care roles as needed, while helping meet department financial objectives and promoting a respectful, inclusive environment for all.

RN Nurse Manager Skills and Qualifications: 

  • Associate Degree in Nursing and current Kentucky RN license required.
  • Minimum 2 years of direct care experience as an RN, preferably with supervisory/management experience.
  • Current CPR/Basic Life Support certification required.
  • Knowledge of long-term care standards and regulations.
  • Strong clinical, supervisory, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently with flexibility, integrity, and compassion, interacting effectively with diverse individuals in crisis.
