A Day in the Life:
The Resident Enrichment Specialist at the Kosair for Kids Complex Care ensures residents' well-being by providing engaging and safe activities. They collaborate with the Interdisciplinary Care Team, honoring residents' preferences to enhance their quality of life while meeting regulatory standards. This fosters an environment where children, families, and team members flourish.
Work/Life Balance – This role has a flexible schedule that can be full-time (30-40 hours/week) or part-time (20 hours/week) with 2 weekend days required once a month.
Resident Enrichment Specialist Responsibilities:
- Plan, execute, and assess enrichment activities for residents, both on and off-campus, tailored to their needs and preferences
- Customize plans to maximize resident participation and adapt based on individual abilities
- Provide personalized behavioral support as needed and ensure resident safety
- Maintain accurate records of participation and volunteer involvement
- Facilitate training for volunteers, staff, and families involved in enrichment
- Ensure sensory enrichment environments are organized and clean
- Complete mandatory training and uphold core values
- Fulfill additional assigned duties
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent is required, bachelor’s degree preferred
- Current CPR / Basic Life Support for the healthcare provider certification is required, will be provided if necessary
- CNA Background or Medical background preferred
- Background in Creative Arts and/or Auxiliary Therapies i.e. Dance, Art, Equine, preferred
- Requires emotional intelligence, sound judgment, and open communication for top-tier resident care
- Works independently with flexibility, integrity, and compassion, serving diverse individuals with varying abilities
- Collaborates effectively with interdisciplinary team members, residents, and families
- Openness to acquiring necessary skills for the role is essential
