Henderson Engineers is seeking a Technology Operations Director to join their team in Lenexa, KS. The Technology Operations Director is responsible for the overall direction and administration of all financial and personnel aspects of the technology sector. This position reports directly to the CTO. The Technology Operations Director leads the development of long-term operational strategies, working closely with the Sector Executive and Board of Directors (BOD) to meet company objectives for the sector. The Technology Operations Director guides sector management on staffing and workload, as well as cooperating across sectors to balance workload and staffing company wide. The Technology Operations Director works cooperatively with other sector and organizational leadership teams to define and mobilize company-wide strategies.

 

Minimum Qualifications for the Role are:

  • Bachelor’s degree in any engineering, construction management, science, technology, or business preferred. Years of relevant experience in leadership/management position will be considered in lieu of requisite education.
  • Ten (10) or greater years of relevant experience, with a minimum of five (5) years leadership/management
  • History of building strong teams to improve the client experience and drive business results.
  • Extensive operations management experience, industry knowledge, and understanding of diverse business functions and principles.
  • Proven track record of effective resource management and optimization.
  • Demonstrated ability to partner with cross-functional leadership to align efforts and meet organizational goals.

Skills and Duties you will be Responsible for while in this role:

Operations:

  • Defines and cascades accountabilities for implementation of operational strategy appropriate for the business and growth needs of the sector.
  • Develops, monitors, and implements policies and procedures appropriate to the operations of the sector, ensuring compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and corporate guidelines.
  • Oversees staffing decisions and workload forecasting for the sector.
  • Supervises managers within the Sector.

Profitability:

  • Develops the annual budget for the sector in cooperation with the sector leadership team, tracks revenue margins and conducts budget reviews to maximize profits.
  • Evaluates sector performance against company objectives, adjusts operations accordingly, and provides reports and presentations on all aspects of sector performance as requested by the CTO and/or other relevant stakeholders.
  • Assists the CTO in developing the business case in support of financial negotiations on behalf of the sector and the company overall.

Employee Engagement/Teamwork:

  • Ensures effective management of employee relations and personnel matters including all employment actions within the sector.
  • Assumes accountability for training, development, and mentoring of talent; identifies opportunities and gaps in employee development efforts and responds with appropriate action.
  • Demonstrates an organization-wide mindset, cooperating across sector leadership teams to collectively meet company goals.

Client Satisfaction:

  • Collaborates with Sector leaders to define and implement service models to create a consistent, streamlined client experience and maximize client satisfaction.

Growth and Innovation:

  • Assists the CTO in developing plans for the growth and development of the sector.
  • Supports company and industry developments to ensure the company maintains a competitive position.
  • Supports implementation of innovation goals for the sector and develops innovative ways to identify, connect, and support clients.
