IT Configuration Manager
The IT Configuration Manager is responsible for leading the IT Configuration Unit, optimizing core system configurations, and ensuring compliance with relevant standards. The role involves collaboration with various teams to identify needs, design, and implement the best configuration solutions to meet evolving business requirements of the organization
Position overview
- Manage the IT Configuration Unit, providing direction, oversight, and support to team members.
- Conduct planning on a multi-year basis to define and achieve goals for the IT Configuration Unit, identify technology and user-experience trends relevant to advancing HPSM business needs, and implement changes to protect the organization from risks and follow industry best practices.
- Accomplish staff results by communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; coaching, counseling, and implementing corrective action steps when necessary; developing, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, procedures, and productivity standards.
- Complete performance evaluations in a timely manner.
- Proactively collaborate with other departments and stakeholders to identify, prioritize, and implement system configuration solutions to meet business needs.
- Develop and implement strategies, policies, procedures, and standards related to system configuration management.
- Monitor and evaluate configuration processes, implementing continuous improvements and corrective actions as needed.
- Design and implement changes within the Claims/Eligibility Software System based on policy and/or procedural directives originating from HPSM, DHCS, CMS or other regulatory agencies.
- Analyze, research, and resolve system errors generated from claim processing and design new configuration or modify existing configuration to resolve errors.
- Provide technical expertise and leadership in the configuration of various platforms, including HEALTHsuite and MedHOK.
- Ensure that all new releases and enhancements of relevant systems are thoroughly tested before they are put into production and are documented thereafter.
- Manage vendor relationships as required to support daily operational needs.
- Proactively coordinate with impacted colleagues to communicate changes that impact their respective departments and operations.
Requirements

Education and experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- Four (4) years of experience in IT configuration management, preferably in a healthcare environment.
- Two (2) years of management or leadership experience.
Knowledge of:
- Configuration management principles, tools, and best practices.
- Medi-Cal program, Title 22, and Medicare coding and payment rules.
- Medical terminology, ICD-10, and CPT-4 coding.
- Healthcare claims/eligibility systems such as HEALTHsuite and MedHOK.
- Process improvement techniques.
- User experience design.
- Supervisory principles and practices.
Ability to:
- Lead, manage, and support a specialized technical team.
- Analyze complex configuration challenges and devise innovative solutions.
- Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships and collaborate effectively with various internal and external stakeholders.
- Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
- Adapt to changes in technology and organizational priorities.
- Work under deadlines and independently manage multiple work efforts across the unit simultaneously.
Salary and benefits
The starting salary range is $101,464 - $130,333 per year, depending on the candidate’s work experience.
