SOCIAL MEDIA & COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT LEAD

SUMMARY

Responsible for taking ownership of our social media channel and highlighting our community involvement. This position will focus on planning and developing social media content to drive engagement and brand awareness, while evaluating channel analytics. This position will provide forward-thinking ideas, conduct market research, and share social media best practices internally. Working closely with the marketing team, this position will assist in developing a suite of creative visuals including graphics, images and videos. Work is performed within bank and statutory policies and procedures; independent judgement and complex decision-making is required to perform job duties.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Work with a variety of internal stakeholders to develop and produce engaging social media content that builds brand awareness, encourages interaction, and aligns with the Bank’s strategy and goals.

 

Build content plans and campaigns specific to social media channels; take ownership of presenting ideas for team approval and partnering on creative assets to coordinate and deliver timely posts.

 

Identify opportunities to improve our approach to social media, build our audience, and enhance our digital presence through market research.

 

Ensure brand standards are met; manage consistency in key messaging, design elements, and voice across our social platforms in coordination with the marketing team.

 

Attend community and internal events to capture photos and videos as needed; develop a plan to share those events both internally and externally.

 

Write short overviews and articles for the Intranet to highlight community involvement; assist with internal communications as needed.

 

Support employee engagement efforts and encourage participation.

 

Provide guidelines and training to team members on how to successfully use social platforms to enhance their online presence and engage with the Bank’s accounts.

Support event planning, including annual meetings, company-wide events, webinars, and customer appreciation events as needed.

 

Assist with crisis communications through social media which may occur outside the normal workday schedule.

 

Review and analyze metrics and data to discover trends and make informed recommendations.

 

Integrate new technology and best practices to increase impact and efficiency.

 

Build relationships with community partners and identify opportunities for shared engagement.

 

Work with philanthropy partners and sponsorship leads to deliver branded collateral and assets.

 

Comply with all banking regulations, policies, and procedures.

 

NON-ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Maintain educational and professional expertise through attendance at job related seminars, conferences and workshops and involvement in professional civic and community groups in leadership positions.

 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

None.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications, marketing, or other related field.  

 

Possess a minimum of three years of professional work experience on a marketing team.   

 

Proven experience and proficiency professionally creating, positing, and using social media platforms including Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, YouTube, Google, Yelp, and X. Basic photography and video capture experience with a phone.

 

Proven experience working independently and managing multiple projects within given deadlines.

 

Experience with copy writing or professional writing preferred. Experience with Denim Social, HubSpot, and paid social experience and knowledge is a plus.

 

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.  Communicate clearly, consistently, and accurately across a variety of channels. Possess excellent communication skills and be an active listener. 

 

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

 

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Has a positive and flexible attitude with the ability to meet deadlines, resolve issues and propose solutions. Ability to make objective decisions using sound judgment. Must be detail oriented with a high degree of professionalism.

 

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Must have the ability to operate PC and printer, copy and fax machines and telephone. Must have good working knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet software programs. Advanced PC knowledge.

Has frequent contact with all departments and external contacts.  Ability to interact with diverse groups of people, develop strong networks, and build credibility within the Bank to drive projects forward.

Valid driver’s license.

COMMENTS

Position may require occasional overnight travel to attend various meetings and training sessions. Position requires the ability to travel to various banking center locations and events as needed. Typically 1 to 3 days per month. Position requires the ability to work before or after normal business hours to attend various meetings and meet deadlines.
