The Director of Integration will lead the end-to-end integration of acquired companies into Harrington. This role is critical in ensuring smooth transitions, operational continuity, and the realization of synergies from acquisitions. The successful candidate will possess a deep understanding of the industry’s dynamics, while driving collaboration across teams and ensuring strategic alignment with organizational goals.

 

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership

  • Develop and execute comprehensive M&A integration strategies, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
  • Partner with executive leadership to define integration priorities, timelines, and success metrics to ensure operational continuity.

Project Management

  • Lead and manage integration planning, including the development of detailed project plans, milestones, and deliverables.
  • Identify and mitigate risks during the integration process to minimize disruption.
  • Monitor progress and provide regular updates to senior leadership, highlighting achievements and challenges.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with functional leaders (HR, IT, Finance, Operations, Sales, etc.) to align integration activities.
  • Ensure effective communication across all teams involved in the integration process.
  • Promote collaboration between the acquired company and internal stakeholders to promote a unified culture.

Financial Oversight

  • Collaborate with Finance on synergy realization and financial targets specific to the industry.
  • Track and manage integration budgets, focusing on cost optimization

Change Management

  • Partner with HR to develop cultural integration efforts to align organizational values and work practices in an employee and customer-focused environment.
  • Partner with HR to develop and implement change management plans to ensure employee engagement and retention throughout the integration.
  • Maintain open communication channels to address employee and customer concerns during the transition.

Communication and Engagement

  • Develop and implement communication plans to keep employees, leadership, and stakeholders informed throughout integration processes.
  • Act as a key liaison between acquired companies and the parent organization.
  • Prepare executive briefings, presentations, and reports to update leadership on integration progress.
  • Develop external communication strategies for customers and suppliers related to mergers, acquisitions, and integrations.

Performance Measurement

  • Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to evaluate the success of integration efforts.
  • Conduct post-integration reviews to identify lessons learned and refine processes for future acquisitions

 

Qualifications:

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, or a related field (MBA preferred).
  • 5-8 years of experience in M&A integration or operations within the distribution and services industries.
  • Certification in project management (e.g., PMP, PMO).
  • Proven track record of managing complex integrations in a dynamic environment.

Skills and Competencies

  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Strong project management skills with experience in cross-functional team leadership.
  • Deep understanding of business operations across multiple functions (HR, IT, Finance, etc.).
  • Experience with financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting.
  • Familiarity with regulatory and compliance considerations in M&A transactions.
  • Expertise in the industrial industry with a focus on distribution and services.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in integrating businesses with diverse customer bases and service portfolios.
  • Knowledge of regulatory and compliance considerations in the distribution and services industry.
