Warehouse Supervisor

Responsibilities:
- Direct supervision of three or less warehouse/driver associates. Participates in hiring process and formal performance evaluations. Approve timecards, create schedules as necessary.
- Ensuring the warehouse is secure, maintaining equipment and vehicles, and ensuring their safe use.
- Following federal, state, and local regulations for warehousing, shipping, and material handling.
- Creating systems for organization and communication and ensuring efficient space utilization.
- Maintaining health and safety standards, safety training certifications and ensuring the safety of staff.
- Read customer orders to determine items to be gathered and distributed.
- Convey materials and items from receiving areas to storage areas.
- Sort and place materials or items on racks or other storage areas according to predetermined sequence such as size, type, style, color, or product code.
- Assemble customer orders from stock and place orders on pallets or in boxes. Convey orders to staging areas and/or onto trucks for delivery.
- Mark materials with identifying information.
- Record amount of materials or items received and distributed.
- Perform data entry of records into the computer.
- Complete requisition forms to order materials from other company locations.
- Prepare parcels for mail.
- Perform physical counts of existing inventory and maintains inventory records.
- Act as back-up when delivery driver is unavailable.
Requirements:
- Valid driver's license and a driving record acceptable to the company's insurance carrier
- Must frequently lift and move 20 pounds, occasionally up to 75 pounds
- High school diploma or equivalent or at least one year of warehouse experience managing hourly employees
- Proficiency with warehouse policies and procedures
- Strong problem-solving and leadership skills
- The ability to collaborate with all levels of company staff
- The ability to provide effective feedback
- Forklift driving experience is preferred
