Assistant Project Manager
H2M architects + engineers, a multidiscipline architectural, engineering, environmental consulting firm seeks an Assistant Project Manager to work out of our Melville, NY office.
As an Assistant Project Manager at H2M in the project management office (PMO) you will be responsible for supporting the efforts of the Project Manager or Sr. Project Manager over all phases of a project. This role involves scheduling, coordinating meetings, managing project documentation, and monitoring project progress. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational and communication skills. Job Responsibilities
- Assist with the planning, initiating, monitoring, and coordinating single and multi-disciplinary architectural or engineering projects, including planning the project’s definition, schedule, timeline and budget in coordination with the Project Manager or Sr. Project Manager.
- Support and manage the preparation of project documentation including proposals, contracts, change orders, files and reports
- Track project progress and performance, identifying any potential risks or issues.
- Serve as a point of contact for project-related inquiries and communications.
- Facilitate meetings, prepare agendas, and document minutes.
- Assist in managing project budgets and financial tracking, including invoices, expenses, and change orders.
- Help prepare financial reports and forecasts.
- Ability to take direction from multiple people and effectively communicate across all disciplines.
- Keep the Project Manager or Sr. Project Manager up to date on all relative issues and schedules associated with the project.
- Assist in maintaining positive client relationships and addressing client concerns or requests.
- Work with Project Manager or Sr. Project Manager to improve performance on future projects.
- Assist the Project Manager or Sr. Project Manager with developing PMO specific SOPs as necessary to drive consistency of project delivery.
Education and Qualifications
- Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering or related field.
- 5 years of related work experience, preferably within an architectural, engineering, or environmental consulting firm, with a minimum of 1-3 years of Project Management responsibilities
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities
- Understanding of project management principles and methodologies.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
- Excellent verbal, written and graphic communications skills.
- Excellent computer and written communication skills required.
- Strong interpersonal and client management skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Project.
- Experience with project management tools such as MS Project, Primavera, or similar.
The salary range for this role is $85,000 - $115,000 annually.

Note: The salary or hourly rate indicated does not include other forms of compensation or benefits.
