SUMMARY

Is responsible for receiving, inspecting, and documenting incoming shipments of merchandise to assist the Retail Cost Controller. Work with the receiving department to move merchandise to the retail receiving department. Assist with the delivery of merchandise to retail outlets.  This includes creating, maintaining and processing items in the retail system. Receiving, tagging and inventorying items on an ongoing basis.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Transport merchandise from the receiving dock to the retail receiving office.
  • Purchase Order processing.  Create, update and verify PO items when received.
  • Reconcile any variances from physical order to the PO.
  • Assist with performing inventory spot checks on a quarterly basis.
  • Assist with maintaining the inventory database information.
  • Receive, open and unpack merchandise from cartons or crates and verify to packing slips and purchase orders.
  • Tag merchandise according to retail buyer guidelines or MSRP.
  • Deliver merchandise to retail outlets.
  • Assist with conducting inventories for monthly, quarterly and annual reporting.  Research variances and reconcile when applicable.
  • Process lost and damaged goods and reporting.
  • Maintain retail receiving office.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

High school graduate with three years retail or comparable experience. Strong computer skills.  Knowledge of Abacus and Great Plains software preferred. 

 

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Good interpersonal skills to work with retail and other resort staff along with vendors on an ongoing basis.

Working knowledge of Microsoft office products and office equipment.

TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Position requires the ability to lift packages up to 75 lbs, the ability to sit/stand/walk for long periods of time, and the need to reach/bend/stretch/kneel on a regular basis.

 

TYPICAL MENTAL DEMANDS

Ability to meet deadlines on a daily, monthly and annual basis. Ability to add, subtract, multiply and subtract in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.

 

WORKING CONDITIONS

Typical office environment with pickups and deliveries around the resort property. This is Monday through Friday from 8am to 5pm with some exceptions for month end processing.

 

COMMENTS

Native American Preference will apply.  Must be able to pass a background investigation and a drug test as a condition of employment.  Must be able to work flexible hours and take on additional responsibilities when asked.  Must adhere to company policies regarding strict confidentiality.
