Banquet Bartender (FT & PT available)
SUMMARY
Responsible for the set-up and service of assigned banquet bar or hospitality functions in accordance with resort policies and quality/safety standards. To obtain optimum guest satisfaction, promote return business and maximize profitability.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Receive beverage assignments to set-up, service and clean
- Adhere to hotel/resort standards and state/local regulations, and to identify and correct potential problems
- Greet guests, reiterate service details and receive and execute any last minute instructions
- Follow all beverage service standards, including recipes and proper amounts
- Take corrective action if necessary to ensure success of function
- Review BEOs of assigned functions prior to function to ensure accuracy
- Stock bars with an appropriate amount to ensure continued guest satisfaction
- Check with assistant banquet manager on any up selling opportunities
- Maintain a clean and presentable bar area for overall appearance and guest satisfaction
- Work well under pressure and meet deadlines effectively
- Maintain proper cash controls
- Follow established bar breakdown procedures
- Complete all required records and consumption reports
- Maintain storage area levels and cleanliness
- Must follow proper grooming and dress standards set forth by the Employee Handbook
- Good rapport with fellow employees and reflect positive attitude
- Report to work on time, in uniform and with proper tool
- Complete all assignments requested of you
- Maintain a high standard of sanitation and safety
- Responsible for cleaning and sanitation of own area
- Maintain open line of communication with supervisor
- Must adhere to resort policy and State mandated laws as they apply to the sale of alcoholic beverages
- Must understand and abide by environmental practices of the resort
- Other duties as assigned
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Must be at least 18 years of age, have a valid Michigan driver’s license and be insurable under the Resort’s policy

The position requires an outgoing personality, positive attitude, strong communication and multitasking skills. Sound judgment and leadership skills. Has skill in establishing and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers and guests. All positions require a team player attitude. Must understand and comply with all departmental and company rules, regulations, policies and procedures. A fine dining Bartender must be able to handle difficulties with guests and staff alike. Bartenders need excellent memory and organization skills, ensuring that all guests receive the correct orders. He or she must be willing to learn new concepts and ideas.

TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Physical demands for this position include lifting heavy trays, standing for extending periods of time, and excellent hand-eye coordination. Other physical demands include being able to walk for long periods of time without rest or sitting down, especially on a very busy night. Balance is also a must for any Bartender, along with the ability to multi-task several projects at once. Must be able to climb stairs and walk on uneven surfaces on an occasional basis. Must be able to frequently lift and carry up to 50lbs at shoulder height. Must be able to bend, squat, push, and pull frequently. Must be able to perform simple grasping, fine manipulation, and repetitive hand & arm movements frequently; squeezing and overhead reaching occasionally.
TYPICAL MENTAL DEMANDS
Able to deal with stress associated with fast-paced work environment. Make judgment decisions and adapt to changing work situations: grasping and applying new ideas. Must have good communication with various personalities at all levels and the ability to deal effectively and interact well with guests and coworkers. Must have the ability to resolve problems/conflicts in a diplomatic and tactful manner. Must have a passion for creating an exceptional experience for all guests.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Work is routine and steps to accomplish are repetitive.

Native American Preference will apply. Must be able to pass a background investigation and an Oral Drug Screen as a condition of employment. Must be able to work flexible hours and take on additional responsibilities when asked. Must adhere to company policies regarding strict confidentiality
