Marketing and Communications Specialist

Full-time position with an emphasis on social media and digital content management. Position does offer a hybrid work environment. Must reside in local market area to be able to come onsite.
The Marketing and Communications Specialist is responsible for targeted outreach with a focus on building and enhancing the overall reputation of GHC-SCW through digital and traditional promotional activities. The Marketing and Communications Specialist provides effective writing, design, and project management functions that serve consumers or business customers. This position Interacts with internal managers and staff to guide, coordinate, and execute and measure the effectiveness of marketing and communications plans that effectively communicate with GHC-SCW’s target audiences. The Marketing and Communications Specialist is also responsible for the project management of Marketing department projects including, but not limited to overseeing the development and execution of specific project deliverables, monitoring internal and external deadlines, and facilitating timely and efficient production and execution of projects. Work is performed under the guidance, direction, and general supervision of the Marketing and Communications Manager.

JOB SPECIFIC MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Business, Marketing, Journalism, Public Relations or Communications or relevant major; or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience is required.
- A minimum of two (2) to three (3) years of marketing, communications or media experience. Experience in health care marketing, health insurance or managed care healthcare environment or community outreach event planning activities is desirable.
- Ability to travel to various work-related sites is required. Possession of a valid, Wisconsin driver license is required, if the employee is operating a motor vehicle. Employee is expected to provide personal transportation.
- Knowledge of and/ or ability to learn about Federal and State Medical Assistance programs such as Medicaid, SSI, and Badger Care is required.
- Knowledge of and/or the ability to learn and understand GHC-SCW insurance products, services and benefits is required.
- Knowledge of content and content management technologies, protocols, and development tools including MS SharePoint, Adobe Web Experience Management solution (WEM) and search engine optimization is preferred.
- Experience in the use of Microsoft Office Suite, or equivalent, to include word processing, spreadsheet, email, database, or presentation software programs. Experience using Adobe InDesign and Photoshop is preferred.
- Knowledge of communications/media strategies including social media-based communications is preferred.
- Knowledge of the techniques and methods of planning, organizing, and writing various types of promotional materials.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with diverse populations across areas such as differing ages, cultures, values, beliefs, learning styles, and literacy levels.
- Ability to communicate ideas and instructions clearly and concisely both verbally and in writing. Ability to write, edit and develop informational publications and materials.
- Excellent public speaking and presentation skills. Strong verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills are required.
- Excellent customer service skills and ability to effectively communicate on the telephone with external parties, practitioners, and internal staff required. Excellent interpersonal skills required. Demonstrated ability to be helpful and to deal courteously with the public and staff required.
- Leadership skills and collaboration skills are required.
- Ability to coordinate with other staff, departments, officials, agencies, organizations, and the public.
- Ability to interact with and engage internal and external stakeholders is required.
- Ability to maintain organizational, proprietary, personnel related and patient confidentiality. Knowledge of and/or ability to learn and apply HIPPA requirements.
- Ability to use independent judgment, organize and execute work with minimal guidance, and meet established deadlines in a fast-paced, high output environment is required.
- Ability to be a team player in a team-oriented environment is required.
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to pay attention to detail. Excellent problem solving and analytical abilities required.
- Ability to work independently and be results-oriented, plan work, manage multiple priorities and workload, and meet deadlines and work under pressure, and work in a consultative approach with users in assessing needs is required. Ability to be flexible and adaptable to changing priorities and assignment is required.
