Summary:
A utility/clean-up worker assisting the entire production line to assure projects are completed in a timely manner. An employee in this position performs duties of average difficulty requiring initiative and independent judgment under minimal supervision. Operates heavy to light equipment, including floor scrubbers, power washers, scissor lifts, power hand tools, and other types of machinery. Should have the ability to be flexible to any type of utility work given on an as needed basis. Must take necessary action to work safely, minimize delay time, and maximize production. Overtime required on an as needed basis to complete projects during production downtime.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
This list of duties and responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities, as management may deem necessary from time to time.
- Responsible for maintaining cleanliness, order, and painting of the entire facility.
- Multiple cleaning duties assigned include sweeping, mopping, floor scrubbing, washing walls, washing windows, washing equipment, sump pumping machines and cleaning out of machine coolant tanks.
- Cleaning, organizing, and maintaining oil rooms and mop bucket dump areas.
- Cleaning, organizing, and maintaining oil carts on the production floor.
- Making and installing signs, sign boards, and machine labels.
- Assemble and move shelving, tables, carts, etc.
- Other 5S projects assigned.
Qualifications:

Education and/or Experience: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language Skills: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
Mathematical Skills: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
