Core Room Technician

Under the supervision of the Core Room Supervisor, the Core Room Technician performs various procedures, using specific tools and materials, to prepare manufactured sand cores for mold production in a safe, efficient, and quality manner.
What You'll Do:
- Per written process directions, receives and prepares core for fitting in the core room area.
- Using tools, such as hand files, scrapers, sandpaper, filters, trowels, and mud prepares the core for production.
- Upon preparing the core, core coatings are applied according to the process guidelines.
- Shall run cores through the core oven per the process card.
- The fitted core is then tagged and forwarded to core storage or to the molding floor for production.
- Attend daily scrap review meetings and work with other department employees in scrap reduction.
- Attend weekly employee meetings.
- Notify the supervisor of all maintenance concerns and all tooling problems or concerns.
- Report all accidents immediately.
- Practice good housekeeping habits always and prepare the area for the next shift daily.
- Additional duties may be required.

What We Need From You:
- Minimum of completion of the tenth (10) grade, high school.
- Must possess the ability to follow written and verbal directions.
- Must have the ability to move freely from one area to another within the department, conform to physical requirements of the job, including the ability to lift fifty pounds regularly, stand in one area during shift hours, and operate all equipment in a safe manner.
- Must be trained in safety requirements, including respiratory protection, PPE requirements and use, and any other safety requirements for employment at Grede–Browntown.
