We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced SQL Database Administrator to join our IT team and take a leading role in optimizing our data management practices. Reporting Director of Business Applications, you will be a key contributor responsible for enhancing the maturity of our data operations.
The primary responsibility of this role will be building and administering databases and data warehouses, managing integrations among data sources, writing and optimizing SQL queries, and developing and optimizing data visualizations. This role will also drive data architecture enabling the integration of data from various systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data management and a deep understanding of relevant technologies.
What You'll Do:
- Database Management: Installing, configuring, and maintaining SQL databases.
- Performance Tuning: Monitoring and optimizing database performance to ensure high availability and reliability.
- Security: Implementing and managing database security measures to protect sensitive data.
- Backup and Recovery: Developing and maintaining backup and recovery plans.
- Troubleshooting: Identifying and resolving database issues and providing support to development teams.
- Documentation: Creating and maintaining documentation for database configurations, processes, and procedures.
- Visualization and Reporting: Developing visualizations and reports using tools such as Crystal Reports or PowerBI.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Working closely with various stakeholders to understand the business, gather requirements, and deliver and maintain data solutions.
- Data Integration: Designing, developing, and maintaining data integrations using ETL technologies such as SSIS.
What We Need from You:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 7 years of experience as a SQL Administrator or in a similar role.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in SQL Server, MySQL, or other database management systems. Experience with performance tuning, backup and recovery, and database security.
- Visualization Tools: Experience with visualization tools such as Crystal Reports or PowerBI.
- ETL Technologies: Experience with ETL technologies such as SSIS.
- Industry Experience: Prefer experience in the manufacturing industry.
- Soft Skills: Strong problem-solving skills, excellent communication abilities, and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
