POSITION SUMMARY

Serves as a primary contact for product recommendations and questions, sample requests, and pricing.  Prospects for potential new customers and follows up on leads.  Helps create and develop custom value-added packaging solutions to protect customers’ products through distribution. 

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING.  OTHER DUTIES MAY BE ASSIGNED.

  1. Meet or exceed established goals including sales growth and profitability.
  2. Promote and sell all Rollguard products including non-traditional high value products.
  3. Respond to price requests from existing and prospective customers.
  4. Leverage provided software to target prospective customers and pieces of business to maximize sales.
  5. Update Salesforce.com system including a Focus prospective customer list. 
  6. Handle issues that arise, and act as a client advocate internally.
  7. Aid in establishing the annual budget and providing updated forecasts for assigned territory.
  8. Design and develop packaging solutions for existing and prospective customers.
  9. Assist Account Managers with technical designs and presentations to customers and prospective customers.
  10. Participate in continuous improvement, and effectively communicate opportunities to improve efficiencies in Rollguard’s processes and tools to the General Manager.

 

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Attend training seminars and workshops to continue gaining product, process, sales technique, and industry knowledge.
  2. Complete annual Team Member Development process.
  3. Involve Rollguard and GNC employees at all levels of our organization as required to address customer inquiries. 
  4. Any other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED
The Technical Sales Representative must hold a packaging related bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university; or three to five years of packaging related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. 

  • Knowledge of different styles and methods of packaging products. 
  • Skilled in Outlook and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint) for communication within GNC and with its customers.
  • Ability to plan, prioritize, and handle multiple tasks 
  • Able to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, customers, and the general public.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent, and to draw and interpret bar graphs. 
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. 
  • Able to create and read CAD drawings. 
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodical, professional journals, technical procedures, and governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or scheduled form.    

WORK RELATIONSHIP AND SCOPE 

The Technical Sales Representative position reports directly to the General Manager and works very closely with Customer Service.  Will also work with suppliers, office personnel, customers, and Account Managers.

 

Salary 

Starting annual salary $68,000 to $72,000 Depending on experience
