MAINTENANCE SHOP MACHINIST
General Purpose:
Responsible for the Manual and CNC Machining and Fabrication of repair parts and modifications to Manufacturing Machinery and related components. Special projects for other departments within GLOCK that support the company and customers. This role will be fully responsible for the entire machine shop within the maintenance department.
Shift(s) Available:
- 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM Monday through Friday
Supervisory Responsibilities:

Duties and Responsibilities (other duties may be assigned):
- Machines and fabricates needed items for upgrades and repairs on GLOCK Inc.’s machinery and equipment.
- Inspects/verifies all parts are made to specification and tests to ensure proper function.
- Using CMMS and MS products, keeps daily log of projects scheduled and completed.
- Communicates with Manager and Supervisor of schedule of tasks and project requests.
- Schedules planned equipment down time with appropriate Manager/Supervisor.
- Maintains supplies and raw stock inventory.
- Directly responsible for maintaining shop equipment according to PM documentation and industry best practices
- Using 5S methods, maintains a safe, clean and organized work area.
- Works with the maintenance team to complete repairs and PMs on manufacturing equipment as assigned.

Education and/or Experience:
High School diploma or equivalent; 2 – 4 years of related experience and/or training |
Background in machining (CNC and Manual), Welding (Arc, MIG, TIG) and Metal Fabrication. |
Good mechanical ability and basic tool shop knowledge to use manual and CNC lathe, mill, drill, and a variety of hand tools. |
Excellent knowledge of measuring devices. (Rule, Micrometers, Calipers, Depth Mics, Dial Bore gauges etc.) |
Excellent ability to read complex machine prints and parts drawings |
Must have good mathematics skills and good knowledge of the metric system. |
Keeping track of numerous responsibilities at once. |
Problem-solving skills and design improvement experience |

Licenses and Certifications:
Valid Drivers License |
Certificate or Experience equivalent to Journeyman millwright CNC Certificate Mill / Turn or equivalent experience. |

Works with and around greases, oils, coolants, and cleaning solutions. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to lift or move parts with an approximate weight up to a maximum weight of 50 lbs. Work requires bending, stooping, kneeling, ladder climbing, and working in small, cramped areas. Personal protective equipment is required and provided. Must be able to walk more than 10,000 steps per day.
Work Environment:
The work environment is normally a climate controlled industrial manufacturing space. The manufacturing environment can vary, outdoor work can be required. Hot, cold, wind and rain can all be expected. Work could be greasy, slippery, wet, and dusty. Must be able and willing to work outdoors in the elements when required. Sharp loud noises are possible. Able to work at heights in personal lifts and drive a forklift.
