Technical Support Drafter
(Inside Sales)
JOB DIMENSIONS
Job Summary:
Under limited supervision, create and generate drawings to support sales and marketing, take technical support calls, generate, create, and monitor the activation and release of new parts numbers required for customer order, create and edit bills of material, create and monitor engineering change orders, enter orders, evaluate and issue return authorizations, quote items prices, receive and respond to customer inquiries, expedite orders and resolve customer issues; support technical sales engineers and product support specialists, and perform other duties as assigned.

Product Applications and Certifications Manager
Example of Duties and Responsibilities:
- Draft and revise assembly and parts drawings and hydraulic schematic drawings;
- Validate documentation requirements for sales orders;
- Take technical support call from field salespeople, agents and customers;
- Verify system applications;
- Create the Bills of Material from New Engineering Data Sheets;
- Enter Sales Orders from customer purchase orders;
- Monitor System Reports and take appropriate actions;
- Review Return Authorizations;
- Communicate with customers in an effort to resolve issues;
- Regular punctuality, attendance, and absence reporting in conformance with company policies is essential to the successful performance of this position; and
- Fully comply with company rules, policies, procedures, and safety guidelines to ensure safe and effective operations.
QUALIFICATION GUIDELINES:
Any combination equivalent to, but not limited to, the following:
Experience/Training/ Education:
High school diploma or equivalent; 2-5 years’ experience in drafting, technical support, understanding manufacturing bills of material, order entry, pricing structures, reading schematics, customer service work; equivalent to Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or other technical field preferred.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Ability to prepare accurate and detailed computer drawings;
- Basic knowledge of 2D software programs;
- Basic knowledge of 3D modeling software;
- Basic knowledge of drawing file management software;
- Basic knowledge of engineering and manufacturing processes and procedures;
- Basic knowledge of production methods, production control functions;
- Basic knowledge of marketing and sales practices;
- Skill in operation of duplicating equipment, personal and mainframe computers;
- Skill in applying mainframe and personal computer software applications programs;
- Ability to organize and prioritize own work;
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions;
- Ability to read and interpret specifications and material orders; and
- Ability to communicate and work cooperatively with others.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to operate office equipment such as computers, printers, filing cabinets, photocopiers and other office equipment, as applicable;
- Most work tasks are performed indoors where temperature is moderate and controlled by office environment systems;
- Ability to work (sit and/or stand) at a desk for majority of the work day; walking and/or standing may be required for the remainder of the work day. Length of time performing these physical requirements may vary from day to day and task to task;
- Requires grasping, writing, sitting, standing, walking, repetitive motions, pulling, pushing, listening and hearing ability, and visual acuity;
- Ability to occasionally reach, lift and/or carry files, materials, and/or records weighing up to 15 lbs; and
- Ability to perform essential functions of the job, as defined;

The pay range represents the low and high end of the salary range we reasonably expect to pay for this position at the time of posting. An employee’s pay position within the salary range will be based on several factors, including, but not limited to, geographic location, experience, education, skills, qualifications, performance, and business or organizational needs.
