District Sales Representative
(Distribution)

JOB DIMENSIONS:
Job Summary:
Under general supervision, performs field sales work to provide data regarding performance capabilities and limitations of valves and other ESI company products to engineers, retailers, end users, and prospective accounts; and performs related duties, as assigned.
Reports to:
General Manager
Examples of Duties and Responsibilities:
- Calls on engineers, agents, Original Equipment Manufacturers, end users, contractors, water departments, and other existing and potential end users;
- Provides inside sales support;
- Assists in product installation and start-ups;
- Fully represent and support all ESI Distribution manufacturers;
- Quote all ESI Distribution manufacturers;
- Conducts training on applications for all ESI Distribution manufacturers, start-up, utilization, and repair procedures;
- Schedules maintenance and servicing of assigned equipment;
- Performs and follows routine trouble-shooting procedures;
- Operates within established revenue and expenditure standards and targets;
- Regular punctuality, attendance, and absence reporting in conformance with company policies is essential to the successful performance of this position; and
- Fully comply with company rules, policies, procedures, and safety guidelines to ensure safe and effective operations.
QUALIFICATIONS GUIDELINES:
Any combination equivalent of, but not limited to, the following:
Experience/Training/Education:
Successful completion of training at Cla-Val service school; and equivalent to a bachelor’s degree in Sales, Marketing, or a related field.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Ability to establish and maintain effective oral and written communications;
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and blueprints;
- Ability to disassemble, reassemble, and adjust automatic control valves and backflow prevention assemblies;
- Ability to determine proper sizing of automatic control valves for different applications;
- Ability to plan, schedule, organize, and prioritize work;
- Ability to analyze customer needs and product applications and specify appropriate product lines;
- Considerable knowledge of sales and customer relations practices and principles;
- Considerable knowledge of company products, pricing, and technical specifications;
- Ability to work cooperatively with others;
- Ability to communicate with departmental representatives, management, engineers, distributors, end users, contractors, and governmental representatives; and
- Ability to make effective sales presentations.
Physical Requirements:

- Ability to operate office equipment such as computers, printers, filing cabinets, photocopiers and other office equipment, as applicable;
- Inside sales tasks are performed indoors where temperature is moderate and controlled by office environment systems;
- Ability to work (sit and/or stand) at a desk for majority of the workday when working indoors; walking and/or standing may be required for the remainder of the workday. Length of time performing these physical requirements may vary from day to day and task to task;
- Requires grasping, writing, sitting, standing, walking, repetitive motions, pulling, pushing, listening and hearing ability, and visual acuity;
- Ability to occasionally bend, stoop, reach, stretch, lift, move, and/or carry files, materials, products and/or records weighing up to 50 lbs.;
Ability to operate a motor vehicle;Ability to perform essential functions of the job, as defined;

Special Requirements:
- Able to travel on company business as required;

- Must Enroll in the company Driver Monitoring program, and;
