Injection Molding Process Technician

We are looking for a Part Time/Per Diem Processor to perform various responsibilities including but not limited to process monitoring, process inspection, disassembling/assembling molds, and troubleshooting and resolving issues. You will be the point person for diagnosing and determining solutions to material performance issues. You will take instruction from the Production Manager on priority duties on a per-diem basis, ensuring efficiency on all injection molding machines. You will also need to be self-motivated to take on daily tasks that are essential to keeping production running. This role is essential to ensuring production runs are processing efficiently according to stringent QC standards.
The area of responsibility for this role is wide and thus requires knowledge of various injection molding processes. The ideal candidate has injection molding maintenance experience with specific knowledge on Polystyrene and Polypropylene processing. They will be called upon to organize and manage their time efficiently with/without instruction and will need to have problem solving capabilities.
Essential Functions:
- Perform process monitoring checks routinely and at start up of each production run
- Work from engineering drawings and specifications, quality assurance standards and test procedures.
- In process inspection skills mandatory
- Basic knowledge of disassembly, assembly, and preventative maintenance of molds and machines
- Communicate effectively to participate in problem solving discussions
- Medical clean room or labware production is a plusKnowledge of material handling of plastic resin feedstock
- Record and interpret production data to identify trends and implement process improvements
- Maintain detailed production records, including process parameters, and deviations
- General knowledge of plastic materials and processes
