Peer Recovery Supporter, HUB Line
Summary
The function of this position is to provide Peer Recovery Support to community peers who call our HUB Line. The HUB Line is a place for peers to call for assistance in peer recovery certification and recertification. The peer will participate in monthly meetings and maintain documentation. They will participate in community trainings on certification and recertification of Ohio peers.
Collaboration and communication with Montgomery County ADAMHS, OhioMHAS and OhioPRO, community behavioral health providers, and GESMV staff is essential in this position. Employees are expected to value the highest ethical standards, quality clinical care, and good customer service. We also value quality communication skills in a collaborative, multi-disciplinary and often multi-agency environment. Must be an Ohio Certified Peer Recovery Supporter to serve in this role.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Responsibilities supervised by an appropriately licensed practitioner include:
1. Answer HUB Line telephone calls, inquire about caller’s needs, and offer support.
2. Inform clients of limits to confidentiality and rights regarding services delivered.
3. Provide Peer Recovery Support services within supervised scope of practice in collaboration with clients.
4. Maintain efficient and timely documentation of services within GESMV Behavioral Health guidelines.
5. Integrate services and/or make referrals to appropriate professionals or outside agencies as indicated.
6. Perform community outreach, information and referral, and education assignments, as well as consultation services as approved by supervisor.
7. Attend community meetings, GESMV staff meetings, in-services, case conferences, supervision sessions, etc., as scheduled.
8. Comply with GESMV and Ohio Certified Peer Code of Ethics.
9. Comply with confidentiality and protected health information rules including HIPPA.
10. Comply with all Agency policies, procedures and safety standards throughout work areas and maintain same to meet CARF, Department of Labor, and other regulatory standards.
11. Perform other related duties as assigned, including support activities as needed to augment the functioning of the agency.

Education Requirements
Must be certified as a Certified Peer Recovery Supporter. Must maintain up-to-date CPR and First Aid certifications.
Experience Requirements
Experience as a person with the lived experience of mental illness and/or substance use disorder. One year of experience providing Peer Recovery Support services is preferred.

3. Ability to operate a multi-line phone system, including transferring calls and facilitating conference calls, as well as other similar tasks.
4. Must possess the ability to evaluate and advocate for the behavioral health needs of clients.
5. Familiarity with and/or interest in furthering understanding of mental health related issues and recovery principles as well as the impact on the individual and surrounding community.

9. Computer skills, including Word, Excel, and ability to use an electronic health record (CareLogic).
10. Demonstrate initiative, as well as the ability to work cohesively within a team.

12. Displays good customer service skills with clients, internal colleagues, and our community at large.
13. Ability to work within budget and funder guidelines.
14. Ability to assist with publicity and outreach activities.
15. Skill in collecting the necessary data for outcome reporting.
