Summary
The function of this position is to provide, under the supervision of a qualified licensed professional counselor with supervisory designation (LPCC-S) or licensed independent social worker with supervisory designation (LISW-S), quality clinical care to clients within the candidate’s internship/practicum experiences and in adherence with Ohio Mental Health licensing standards. Assess clients on admission, with respect to behavioral health needs, and on a continuing basis, review, update and execute that assessment. Establish and review goals for each client. Value highest ethical standards, quality clinical care, and good customer service. Quality communication skills in a collaborative, multi-disciplinary and often multi-agency environment.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Responsibilities supervised by an appropriately licensed practitioner include:
- Informs clients of limits to confidentiality, rights regarding services delivered and payment expectations.
- Performs diagnostic assessment, treatment planning, and counseling services within supervised scope of practice in collaboration with clients and under supervision of clinical supervisor.
- Coordinates interventions with a multi-disciplinary treatment team.
- May provide emergency consultation and crisis assessment intervention.
- Maintains efficient and timely clinical documentation within GESMV Behavioral Health guidelines.
- Integrates services and /or make referrals to appropriate professionals or outside agencies as indicated.
- Participates in the assessment of programs needs and peer review, as well as cooperates with performance improvement and Key Process Indicator (KPI) as defined.
- Performs community outreach, information and referral, and education assignments, as well as consultation services as approved by supervisor.
- Complies with confidentiality and protected health information rules.
- Attends staff meetings, in-services, case conferences, supervision sessions, etc. as scheduled.
- Competency demonstrated in the prerequisite duties for clinical practice as documented through peer review.
- Performs other related duties as assigned including support activities as needed to augment functioning of the agency.
- Meets with clinical supervisor for one (1) hour for every twenty (20) hours worked.
- Other duties may be assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
- Must be enrolled in an accredited master’s level counseling program with a valid CT license or enrolled in an accredited master’s level social work program with a valid SWT license.
- Candidate must have an active counselor trainee (CT) or
- Excellent clinical skills.
- Must possess the ability to evaluate the behavioral health needs of clients.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office with the ability to use an electronic health record (CareLogic).
Qualifications
Must maintain a valid driver's license and a driving record acceptable to Goodwill's liability insurance provider.
Must maintain the ability to pass a criminal background check and random drug screens.
