Hearing Coordinator
This individual is responsible for serving as the liaison between the attorney advisors, hearing scheduler, and independent local council (ILCs) and ODAR.
Responsibilities:
· Working in association with hearing scheduler to ensure accuracy of SSAM and public calendar of all scheduled hearings.
· Calling ODARs to confirm special requests following a scheduled hearing- i.e. VTC considerations, translator, pre-hearing requirements.
· Following up with claimants regarding return of mailed authorizations, outstanding medical records and medical provider updates.
· Contacting claimants following hearing for post hearing impressions.
· Processing Notices of Hearing (NOH) received from ODAR by entering information in calendar and SSAM or otherwise confirming correct entries.
· Corresponding with ODAR regarding representative travel delays for urgent travel related concerns.
· Monitoring cases post hearing for status updates and communicates information to claimants, accordingly.
· Assisting in managing ILC Portal under direction of supervisor
· Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
· High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
· Formal schooling as noted above and 2-3 years experience in an administrative and/or customer service capacity.
· Ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment.
· Strong organizational, verbal communication and customer service relations skills.
· Ability to adhere to a schedule and follow departmental procedures within set time frames.
· Strong computer skills.
· Ability to work well in a team setting.
· Must be flexible and responsive to change
