What you’ll do…

 

As a Construction Project Manager you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of your assigned projects. This position will be responsible for overall project planning and scheduling, resource allocation, project accounting and control while providing technical direction and ensuring compliance with quality standards. The position will cover a broad range of responsibilities of project management. Successful Project Managers are team-oriented and highly motivated. You must also have excellent communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate at all levels of an organization.

This position is a full-time position based in the GEDC Practice Support Center in Southfield, MI and will require a daily commute and presence in the office at least four days a week (after the required training period). 

What you’ll bring to the team…

  • Ensures construction projects are on schedule and completed by commitment date
  • Creates project plans, budgets and ensures proper resource allocations
  • Revises plans as needed and ensures all appropriate people are communicated with updated plan
  • Establishing accurate cost breakdowns for invoicing purposes to allow adequate cash flow through projects
  • Effectively communicate with local municipalities and permitting agencies to ensure permitting and ongoing coordination and compliance for reach project
  • Manages trade crews and ensures clear communications are delivered regarding phases and project due dates
  • Monitors the progress of the construction activities and holds regular status meetings with all relevant team members
  • Performs periodic inspection of construction sites
  • Prepares project timelines and ensures cross functional teams are notified and updated when needed
  • Architects, consultants, IT, furniture, sub-contractors, & general labor
  • Ensures all quality and safety guidelines and requirements are met throughout the lifecycle of the project
  • Identifies potential project roadblocks and works early to develop contingency plans in order to resolve and stay on track
  • Manages the project budget by tracking expenses to ensure project stays on budget
  • Hold meetings with customers and review and present deliverables of the project before passing onto client
  • Monitoring job progress continually and devising methods for improving production and effectiveness of staff
  • Other tasks as required by management staff

 

What we require you have…

  • Bachelors degree in Construction Management or other educational equivalency
  • 5-7 years experience with construction project management
  • 2-3 years experience managing legal and safety standards within construction projects
  • Previous experience within Medical or Dental environments is preferred
  • Effective at creating partnership with management and executives
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat Pro
  • Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Proven success with vendor and trades negotiations
  • Experience with managing budgets and delivering information from P&L statements
  • Ability to work independently and professionally in a fast past environment
  • Ability to learn quickly and adapt rapidly to change
  • Successful record of managing multiple tasks which require high level of detail orientation, organization and time management skills
  • Successful track record of developing metrics  and reports that are positively received
  • Proficient with Mechanical, Electrical & Plumbing building systems
  • Able to travel approximately 20% of the time
