Job Title: IT Network Administrator

Scope of Work: The IT Network Administrator ensures the security, stability, integrity, and the efficient operations of the information technology (IT) systems data networks that support Gaylor’s business functions. This position is primarily based within the corporate office in Indianapolis, Indiana, and has regularly recurring responsibilities at other locations and jobsites. Network design, hands-on installation, and implementation are standard functions of the role. Current data network methodologies include wired, fiber, Wi-Fi, cellular, and satellite. The IT Network Administrator will apply proven communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills to identify, communicate, and resolve issues to maximize the benefit of the IT systems investments.

Responsibilities:

  • Assures network security is maintained
  • Collaborates with Information Technology Team to ensure fluid and reliable operation of the network environment for fulfilling business objectives and processes
  • Works with management team members, decision makers, and key stakeholders to define business requirements and IT systems goals, to identify and resolve network and network related IT systems issues
  • Assists in designing and implementing data centers and server rooms, including HVAC control, environmental alarms, electrical power requirements, and building access restrictions
  • Coordinates and collaborates with all stakeholders to ensure high availability, reliability, and scalability of network resources to meet business demands • Performs cost-benefit and ROI analysis for proposed network systems to aid management in making implementation decisions
  • Research networking equipment, software and protocols for procurement and development efforts
  • Enforces change control processes to ensure changes to production environments are well tested, planned, communicated, and documented
  • Monitors and tests system performance; prepares and delivers systems performance statistics and reports
  • Collaborates with Information Technology Team to provide off-hours support for critical network outages
  • Creates and maintains documentation as it relates to system configuration, mapping, processes, and service records
  • Closely monitors the cybersecurity environment and makes the necessary recommendations and updates to the systems

Minimum Requirements:

  • Three or more years of documentable experience as an IT network administrator or engineer
  • Cisco networking, CCNA preferred, not required
  • Juniper MIST networking experience
