Scope of Work: The Survey Manager oversees a team of Survey Technicians, ensuring their training and scheduling across various jobsites. This role includes managing the equipment fleet and maintenance program, staying updated with the latest technology, and evaluating its application. The Survey Manager is responsible for performance assessments, quality control, and production tracking of survey teams, as well as managing the layout and stakeout of worksites according to blueprints.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee and train a team of Survey Technicians.
- Schedule team members for various jobsites across the country.
- Manage and maintain survey equipment fleet.
- Stay informed about and evaluate the latest surveying technology.
- Conduct performance assessments and track quality and production of survey teams.
- Manage layout and stakeout work according to blueprints.
- Operate Topcon GPS and Robotic Station equipment.
- Work outdoors and on construction sites in all weather conditions.
- Perform calculations associated with surveying.
- Read and interpret construction plans and specifications.
- Provide work control lines and elevations for accurate measurement and installation of materials.
- Assist in evaluating potential dimensions and other field problems.
- Perform layout work accurately as specified by the Project Manager.
- Check as-built conditions using surveying techniques.
- Schedule the use of Trimble equipment with field personnel for cost-effective resource use.
Minimum Requirements:
Education:
- High school graduate, holder of G.E.D., or equivalent studies/experience.
Experience:
- Land surveying or equivalent field experience with various survey instruments (GPS, Robotic total stations, data collectors, digital levels, etc.).
- AutoCAD/BIM 3-D modeling experience (preferred).
- Strong administrative and computer skills (Word & Excel).
- High degree of technical knowledge of electrical construction and computer drafting applications (preferred but not required).
- Strong communication skills.
