Director of Nursing Services, RN

Friendship is looking for a Full Time Director of Nursing, RN to join our Friendship Health and Rehab Center South team, located in Roanoke, VA. The Director of Nursing is responsible for directing and advising the nursing staff with regard to resident care and facility policies and procedures.

Responsibilities:

• Oversees the development of all assignments for unit nursing staff including schedules, break and meal times, disciplinary action and resident assignments
• Participates in facility surveys
• Plans, implements and evaluates nursing staff on an ongoing basis
• Assess and communicate resident conditions, care and any other critical information across shifts and/or departments
• Plans and facilitate meetings and committees
• Set goals and establish priorities; coordinate and manage the activities and resources to achieve those goals
• Development, implement and evaluate programs to measure, assess and improve the quality of nursing care provided in accordance with governmental regulations and facility policies

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in nursing preferred
• Valid, board certified, active Virginia license to practice as an RN required
• Minimum of 8 years of nursing experience with 3 years of progressive supervisory experience required
• Experience in long-term care environment preferred
• Must possess excellent internal/external customer service with employees, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies and the general public.
