Friendship is seeking a Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) to join our Friendship Outpatient and Wellness Services team, located on Hershberger Road on a PRN basis. The Speech Language Pathologist is responsible for preventing, assessing, diagnosing and treating speech, language, social communication, cognitive-communication and swallowing disorders in residents.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Complete screenings and patient evaluations according to departmental policies and procedures
- Establish, implement and execute goal-oriented treatment plans and programs in coordination with other departments
- Evaluate treatment plan progressions to identify any deficiencies and make adjustments as may be necessary
- Provide aural rehabilitation for individuals who are deaf or hard of hearing
- Provide augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) systems for individuals with severe expressive and/or language comprehension disorders, such as autism spectrum disorder or progressive neurological disorders
- Work with people who don’t’ have speech, language, or swallowing disorders, but want to learn to communicate more effectively
Qualifications:
- Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) required
- Experience in a long-term care/rehabilitation facility preferred
