Prefer someone with experience in the states of GA, NC, SC, AL, & TN

Summary:  Under general supervision and following standard procedures with independent judgment, investigates, analyzes and manages litigated claims to settle claims in accordance with policy provisions by performing the following duties.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

 

  1. Obtain information necessary to properly investigate and evaluate each case by corresponding with agents, insured, attorney, witnesses and others.

 

  1. Sets or recommends reserves based on results of claim investigation by examining legal pleadings, claims reports and other similar claim precedents to determine extent of coverage and liability.

 

  1. Develop and manage effective case resolution, including:
    1. Develop litigation plan/strategy
    2. Participate in settlement negotiations
    3. Supervise and direct defense counsel
    4. Attend court proceeding and depositions.

 

  1. Prepare and maintain timely and accurate case reports, including closing, appellate, large incurred activity, and reinsurance reports.

 

  1. Performs other duties as assigned.

Education/Experience:

Level 5:   Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university; or a minimum of 3 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

 

A minimum requirement for this position is the ability to work legally in the United States. No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position, including for any type of U.S. permanent residency (green card) process.
