Summary:  Under limited supervision and with significant independent judgment, responsible for the leadership, direction and operation of the Technical Coordinator, CL Underwriting Support (TCUSR) function. Assists in the achievement of productivity, quality, efficiency, consistency, and business goals by developing, promulgating, and monitoring performance to best practices, supporting staff skill development, and serving as an underwriting support subject matter expert.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

 

  1. Manages and coordinates the following activities in Commercial Lines:
    1. Oversees multiple channels of field assistance and support ensuring proper service standards are upheld.
    2. Ensures Workers’ Compensation proof of coverage process is conducted following best practices and in a timely manner.
    3. Monitors training needs of regions, quality review process, and coordinates content management needs.
    4. Handles escalated situations requiring management intervention.
    5. Optimizes underwriting support activities with commercial lines regions, maintaining operational best practices, efficiency, and consistency.
  1. Functions as a supervisor of a business unit, either directly or through subordinate leaders, including but not limited to:
    1. Recommends and communicates goals while directing operations to ensure the achievement of required results
    2. Develops, recommends and implements operational plans and procedures
    3. Trains, coaches and leads staff
    4. Prepares and/or reviews performance appraisals. Conducts performance review meetings
    5. May recommend and/or implement employment actions, including employment/termination, corrective action, promotions/demotions, salary changes, etc.

 

  1. May serve as a contributing member of project team(s), or leader of project team(s), coordinating resources to ensure achievement of project activities

 

  1. Performs other duties as assigned

 

Education/Experience:

Level 5:   Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university; or four to six years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

A minimum requirement for this position is the ability to work legally in the United States. No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position, including for any type of U.S. permanent residency (green card) process.
