- 3-5 years of relevant experience preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office is a plus.
- Certification as an Activity and Wellness Director per state licensure guidelines preferred.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- General understanding of senior care needs.
- Ability to work in an environment that supports resident care without posing a safety or health risk to self or others.
- Flexibility in scheduling to accommodate weekend and evening programs.
- Strong teamwork skills and the ability to foster a collaborative environment.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Design and lead group and individual activities for residents, ensuring alignment with budget constraints and maintaining accurate records.
- Develop and execute activities that comply with community policies and state regulations.
- Track and document resident participation in activities.
- Collaborate with residents to gather feedback and incorporate innovative ideas.
- Oversee holiday decorations, bulletin board updates, and the maintenance of activity rooms, including setup and cleanup.
- Promote the community through activities and events.
- Create and distribute a monthly newsletter and activity calendar to residents, families, and prospects.
- Engage residents and families in volunteer opportunities and establish volunteer programs within the local community.
- Participate in professional development workshops.
- Train and orient new volunteers.
- Attend meetings and in-service training sessions as required by state regulations.
- Assist with new resident orientation, including completing the Resident’s Social Profile.
- Ensure strict adherence to residents' rights and report any violations.
- Serve as part of the management team, including on duty manager responsibilities, presenting the community, and participating in staff meetings and community events.
- Facilitate Resident Council Meetings.
- Provide transportation for residents to scheduled activities and appointments.
- Perform other related duties assigned by the Executive Director.
- Recruit, train, and supervise volunteers and the Activity Assistant (if applicable).
