What We Need

Corpay Lodging Division is looking for a Vice President of Software Engineering that will lead our technology department, including all the efforts related to application development, project management, and technology support. Using an active and practical approach, the VP will direct all development teams in the IT department to help the company attain strategic goals. The Vice President of software engineering will manage, direct, and support multiple development teams. This position will set strategic roadmaps, conduct budget reviews and analyses, and ensure both internal and external customer goals are met.

As a VP of Software Engineering, you will be expected to work in a hybrid environment reporting to our Buckhead or Peachtree Corners office location. Corpay will set you up for success by providing:

Role Responsibilities

As Vice President, Software Engineering, you will be a leader to help scale a high-growth business via a Product delivery model with global teams. The responsibilities of the role will include:

  • Assessing the current state of technology and find key areas for quality improvement, integrate and optimize across existing stacks and create a plan for modernization.
  • Structuring the team for growth including domestic and offshore/nearshore resources, and build a sustainable engineering organization
  • Executing across a robust roadmap to capitalize on the organization’s growth potential in the current and future addressable markets
  • Creating and maintaining strategic roadmaps by working with internal stakeholders
  • Creating, maintaining, and reviewing large budgets
  • Reviewing security adherence and promote best practice protocols.
  • Providing technical and non-technical guidance and direction to management team members.
  • Setting and implementing policies and procedures related to application quality standards and testing.
  • Planning and accomplish goals by relying on your extensive experience and judgment.
  • Ensuring the development team leverages technologies that enable the delivery of best-in-class product experiences.
  • Leading teams of approximately 25-50 resources with 2-3 direct reports. 

Qualifications & Skills

  • Experience managing mid-sized technical staff.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as a contributing team member.
  • Ability to think creatively and drive results.
  • Bachelor's degree in a related area and at least seven years of experience with applications development
  • Strong database experience in writing and tuning stored procedures, defining roles, permissions, and security.
  • Scaling web-based applications to millions of transactions per day
  • Modern Web Services development experience
  • Strong knowledge of Amazon Web Services.
  • Experience optimizing and automating tests builds and deployments
  • 10+ years of experience in the defined technical areas.
  • 7+ years of management and strategic experience.
