Production Associate

The Production Associate is responsible for various tasks related to the manufacturing, processing, and packaging of food production at JF Heritage Food Company. The Production Associate works as part of a team to ensure that all products meet quality standards and are prepared according to company procedures and regulatory guidelines.

General Responsibilities:

• Food Preparation: Assists in preparing raw materials and ingredients for production according to recipes and specifications.
• Production Operations: Operates machinery and equipment involved in the production process, such as mixers, ovens, slicers, and packaging machines.
• Quality Control:  Monitors product quality throughout the production process, including checking for proper weight, size, texture, and appearance.
• Sanitation and Safety:  Maintains cleanliness and sanitation standards in the production area, including regular cleaning of equipment and workspaces. Adheres to safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
• Packaging/Order Selection:  Packages large volumes of items according to production requirements. Picks orders based on requisition/order sheets and ensures items are organized according to defined layout.
• Team Collaboration: Works closely with team members, including Shift Leads and Operations Manager, quality control personnel, to ensure a smooth and efficient production operation.
• Continuous Improvement:  Participates in process improvement initiatives aimed at optimizing efficiency, quality, and safety in food production.

Qualifications:

1+ years’ experience in similar role, good attention to detail – especially when performing quality inspections on ingredients and products, must have knowledge of safe food handling procedures, able to work in fast-paced, hot or cold, and hectic environment, possess the ability to follow instructions/directions, proficient in MS Office, and be able to stand for long periods of time.   Able to work all shifts including weekends and holidays.
