As a part-time Esthetician at The Wellness Barn, you will provide exceptional skincare and related spa treatments with the utmost professionalism, customized care, and genuine hospitality to our guests. You will contribute to the success of the spa by aligning with our company’s vision, mission, and values, and supporting our business goals.

Essential Functions:
Your key responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Deliver a range of spa services in a timely, courteous, and efficient manner, including skincare treatments, body treatments, foot soaks, and more.
  • Maintain agreed-upon retail sales to service ratios, promoting our range of products, gifts, and accessories to guests.
  • Upsell services and products to meet or exceed the agreed-upon upsell percentage.
  • Attend pre- and post-shift meetings to stay informed of spa operations and guest needs.
  • Participate in managing backbar expenses by efficiently utilizing spa products and supplies.
  • Complete all required administrative and record-keeping tasks as they pertain to spa operations.
  • Engage in ongoing advanced training to stay current with industry trends and enhance service offerings.
  • Escort guests to and from treatment rooms, ensuring their comfort and attending to their needs throughout their spa visit.
  • Provide information to guests regarding spa services and coordinate any special guest requests.
  • Ensure the cleanliness and immaculate presentation of the spa, including treatment rooms, locker rooms, and common areas.
  • Perform monthly and quarterly deep-clean responsibilities in all spa areas.
  • Assist with the cleanliness and maintenance of the spa’s indoor and outdoor areas, including lounges, pool areas, and retail space.
  • Assist fellow team members with daily spa operations, contributing to a collaborative, team-oriented work environment.
  • Support any other tasks assigned by the Spa Manager or General Manager related to the spa’s smooth operation.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent education.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to read, write, speak, and understand English clearly.
  • 2+ years of experience as an Esthetician in a stand-alone spa or hotel spa environment, or equivalent experience.
    • Less experience may be considered with advanced training and demonstrated proficiency.
  • Valid California State Esthetician License from the Department of Consumer Affairs (DCA).
  • Experience working in a luxury spa environment is strongly preferred.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods, with well-paced mobility for up to 6 hours.
  • Able to bend, stoop, squat, and stretch to complete cleaning and treatment tasks.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. regularly and push/pull carts and equipment weighing up to 250 lbs. occasionally.
  • Requires grasping, repetitive motions, and keen visual and auditory acuity.
