Job Description

The Lead Business Analyst elicits and documents system requirements from clients for Implementations on the LifePRO and Portal system. They contribute Business and LifePRO knowledge to accurately assess product requirements and needed configuration.

This role will provide business analysis skills throughout the project life-cycle, i.e. requirements gathering, analysis, design, configuration, testing, implementation and hand-over. The work includes requirements gathering, product roadmap definition, data analysis, test use case planning and preparation. The role requires close interaction with business users; senior stakeholders, other development teams, support teams, infrastructure teams and project teams to ensure projects & services are delivered on schedule with high quality. The role will suit an experienced business analyst with a technical background and interest.

 

 Business Analyst Job Responsibilities

  • Document business and product requirements per client needs.
  • Collaborate with product configurator and system Subject Matter Experts for the creation of product Roadmaps.
  • Create test cases for use in Quality Assurance testing.
  • Replicate scenarios for proof of concept to uncover system functionality gaps.
  • Support Development and Quality Assurance efforts as needed.
  • Perform Quality Assurance testing for modifications as needed.
  • Recreate incidents for debugging efforts.
  • Complete remote and onsite client consulting for system functionality.
  • Support internal projects and sales initiatives as needed.
  • Research, test, and explain actuarial calculations and concepts.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university in actuarial sciences, mathematics or statistics or equivalent work experience within the insurance/financial industry.
  • 5+ years of writing Business Requirement Documents and Functional Specification Documents experience
  • 3+ years of technical development experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Working experience in Life Insurance and Annuity domain, especially portal and enterprise technologies is a plus.
  • Certifications in insurance, financial services or actuarial sciences preferred.
  • Experience with web & database technologies: HTML, JavaScript, CSS, XML/XSD, Oracle, SQL
  • Experience using a structured modeling language, preferably UML. 
  • User Interface (UI) and User Experience (UX) design understanding
  • At least 8 years of experience with medium to large sized projects.
  • Proven delivery track record of managing business analysis within fast-paced corporate environment and agile methodologies
  • Candidate should be able to diagnose problems quickly and independently
  • Leading incident resolution.
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Excel, Power Point, Word, Project, Visio and SQL or related software applications
  • Strong communication skills (both verbal and written) with the ability to influence senior management level project sponsors and stakeholders
  • Leading process enhancement efforts.
  • Creating and presenting training programs.
  • Training and mentoring lesser experienced team members.
  • Can do attitude with willingness to accept challenges and develop innovative approaches
  • Ability to work with offshore delivery teams
  • Experience modeling data, processes, events, use cases, and objects
  • Experience facilitating client workshops/discussions
  • Ability to create & review technical documentation, specifications, and architecture
  • Ability to identify and escalate risks and issues as appropriate and identify potential solutions
  • Differentiate requirements changes from defects to determine when change management is needed
  • Assess impact of requirements changes in terms of risk, scope, and effort
