EXL Health is looking for a Senior Manager – Healthcare Solutions/Bid Management. This is a remote role within the US.

The Solutions and Bid Management Lead is responsible for leading the development of innovative solutions for clients, managing the end-to-end bid process, and supporting strategic initiatives to align with the organization's long-term goals. This role focuses on ensuring compelling and competitive bids, while also contributing to overall business strategy by identifying opportunities for growth, product development, and market positioning.

Key Responsibilities

Solutions (40%):

  • Solution Development: Identify market opportunities and develop innovative healthcare solutions addressing key pain points in the payer and provider journey.
  • Solution Design & Customization: Collaborate with internal teams (e.g., product, sales, operations, and technical experts) to design tailored solutions that meet the specific requirements of clients and align with their strategic objectives.
  • Innovation & Continuous Improvement: Stay informed about industry trends, emerging technologies, and competitive landscape to ensure the company remains ahead of market demands. Advocate for continuous improvement in solution design and delivery processes.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Collaborate with business leaders, technology teams, and external stakeholders to deliver scalable healthcare solutions that meet regulatory, operational, and financial requirements and to develop high-quality collateral materials and visuals for client pitches, internal presentations, and proposals, ensuring consistency with brand guidelines and strategic messaging.

Bid Management (40%):

  • Bid Process Management: Lead and manage the full bid process, from initial opportunity assessment through to proposal submission. Ensure that all bids are completed on time, comply with client requirements, and are competitively priced.
  • Bid Strategy & Development: Lead the bid management process for new business opportunities, ensuring alignment with client needs and organizational capabilities. Develop compelling, compliant, and competitive proposals in response to RFPs and RFIs.
  • Proposal Writing & Documentation: Prepare high-quality bid documents, including executive summaries, solution overviews, pricing, and delivery models. Ensure all proposals are consistent with the company’s brand, messaging, and standards. Maintain a comprehensive proposal database, extracting best practices, and improving templates and processes to streamline bid success tracking and enhance efficiency.
  • Cross-Functional Coordination: Work closely with internal departments, including product, sales, legal, and finance teams, to gather the necessary input for bids. Facilitate bid reviews and approvals to ensure alignment with business goals.
  • Post-Bid Review, Lessons Learned, & Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for improving bid management processes, including better use of tools, more efficient workflows, and enhanced collaboration across teams, while conducting post-bid evaluations and lessons learned reviews to continuously optimize processes and align strategies for future bids.

Strategy (20%):

  • Strategic Planning Support:
    Assist in long-term strategic planning, particularly around how new solutions align with market trends and client demands. Identify growth opportunities and innovation areas for new product offerings.
  • Market Research & Insights: Conduct research to monitor competitive landscape and understand market conditions. Provide insights into evolving client needs and recommend areas for future solution development.
  • Portfolio Development: Collaborate with the product management and business development teams to identify portfolio gaps and recommend solutions to address these gaps.
  • Partnerships: Evaluate potential solution partnerships and develop business cases for new or modified products.

Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree, MBA preferred

Skills

Technical Skills:

  • Strong understanding of healthcare systems, clinical workflows, and financial structures (including value-based care, fee-for-service, etc.).
  • Familiarity with healthcare IT solutions and digital health technologies.
  • Proficient in using data analytics tools for healthcare insights (e.g., Excel, Tableau, SQL).
  • Proficient in using presentation tools for proposals and presentations (e.g., VISIO, PowerPoint, FIGMA)

Soft Skills:

  • Strong leadership and project management skills.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation abilities.
  • Ability to think critically, problem-solve, and adapt to a rapidly changing healthcare environment.
  • Collaboration and relationship-building skills to work across multidisciplinary teams.

Preferred Skills

  • Knowledge of claims auditing is a plus.
  • Experience in developing strategies for population health management, care coordination, or value-based care.
  • Knowledge of emerging trends in healthcare technology, including telemedicine, AI, and patient-centered care models.
  • Background in mergers and acquisitions, partnerships, or healthcare business development.
