Purchasing Coordinator
We are actively seeking a Purchasing Coordinator to join our Purchasing Team! This wonderful opportunity will support our Purchasing leaders with project coordination and execution to support our business. The position is on site and based at our Store Support Center located in San Diego.

THE POSITION
As Purchasing Coordinator (Full-Time Hourly), you will be responsible for coordinating the flow of projects within a fast-paced and dynamic purchasing environment, ensuring timely completion and seamless execution. Supporting the VPs of Purchasing and Directors of Purchasing, the coordinator will be instrumental in generating reports, crafting impactful PowerPoint presentations, coordinating approvals, and facilitating clear communication. The coordinator will function as a key liaison, connecting with internal teams across purchasing, product development and planning. The coordinator will also take on special projects aligned with our business goals and track project progress with precision. The coordinator will collaborate closely with the purchasing team to drive success and innovation, making a significant impact within the organization.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
Project Management
- Spearhead the workflow for projects, ensuring that all approvals and reviews meet targeted deadlines.
- Coordinate between internal teams in purchasing, product development, and planning.
- Maintain and oversee project lists, workflows, and design assets from partners and third-party vendors.
- Assist in executing high-priority business projects, contributing to their successful completion.
Coordination and Collaboration
- Implement a framework for planning and controlling workflow across various teams.
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders to ensure smooth coordination and timely feedback.
- Coordinate operational tasks supporting the product vision, including item setup/maintenance, inactivation’s, replenishment, purchase order forms, and communication with vendors and stores.
- Coordinate the Book Signing process, overseeing consignments and facilitating clear communication between stakeholders.
- Organize design assets and exhibit materials to ensure proper filing and sharing of assets across teams.
- Create visually engaging and compelling PowerPoint presentations for partner meetings and other business needs.
- Monitor project progress and adapt to timeline challenges, proactively addressing potential issues.
- Advise on scheduling, manage conflicts, and ensure project profitability.
Business and Financial
- Generate reports as directed by the VPs of Purchasing to identify opportunities and key highlights within specific stores.
- Support the completion and management of essential documentation for vendors, partners, and the purchasing team.
- Assist in the licensing process and conduct detailed item-level reviews to ensure compliance with company standards.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications (Power Point, Outlook, SharePoint, Excel).
- Proficient in designing engaging presentation decks.
- Proficient in generating reports and interpreting key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Strong organizational skills, resourcefulness, proactivity, and a fast learner.
- High attention to detail and able to effectively prioritize tasks.
- Team player with strong communication, relationship building, and interpersonal skills.
- Flexible and adaptable to change.
