Our team is dedicated to providing engaging and memorable retail environments that enhance the guest experience, while reflecting the unique mission and values of each location we serve.

At Zoo Knoxville, our retail store is an extension of the Zoo’s mission to inspire understanding and conservation of wildlife and wild places. As a Part-Time Receiving Associate, you’ll play a crucial role behind the scenes, ensuring that inventory is managed efficiently and accurately. Your work will help create a seamless shopping experience for guests, connecting them with products that celebrate the beauty and importance of wildlife conservation.

The Position:

As a Receiver, you’ll be a crucial part of the museum’s retail team, ensuring that our store operates smoothly and that inventory is always where it needs to be. You’ll be behind the scenes, managing stock and keeping our merchandise flowing to the shelves, so visitors can enjoy a seamless shopping experience.

What You’ll Do:

  • Inventory Master: Handle all incoming inventory receipts, ensuring everything is accurate, organized, and in prime condition.
  • Data Champion: Follow procedures to maintain data integrity, making sure our inventory is always accurate and up-to-date.
  • Stockroom Pro: Receive, transfer, pack, stock, and ticket merchandise with precision, keeping everything neat and ready for guests.
  • Inventory Control Guru: Perform cycle counts, manage transfers, and implement price changes as needed.
  • Organizational Wizard: Keep our stockroom in tip-top shape—organized, clean, and up to company standards.
  • Team Player: Work closely with the Store Director and Assistant Director, stepping in for additional tasks when needed to ensure the store runs smoothly.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Physical Ability: You can comfortably lift and move up to 75 pounds. This is a role that keeps you on your feet and moving!
  • Tech-Savvy: Basic computer skills are essential for tracking inventory and processing data.
  • Flexibility: You’re available to work weekends and evenings, adapting to the needs of the store and museum’s busy schedule.
  • Communication Skills: You can easily collaborate with your team and keep things running efficiently.
  • Experience a Plus: Stockroom experience is great, but if you’re new to it, we’ll provide the training to get you up to speed!

Physical Demands: You’ll be standing, walking, and using your hands throughout the day to handle merchandise. You may occasionally need to reach, climb, stoop, kneel, or crouch as part of your role. And yes, lifting and moving up to 75 pounds is part of the job, but don’t worry—reasonable accommodations can be made if needed!
