Company Description 

 

As a member of the Enterprise Product Development Team, a Frontend Engineering Manager leads the team that develops and designs any user interface produced by Empyrean.  They work closely with the marketing and product teams to code and deliver consistent designs in Empyrean’s products.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES


  • Responsible for overall user experience of the software released by the development team
  • Work to integrate assets produced by designers in the marketing group into products.
  • Work with the product team user experience members on designs and customer feedback.
  • Manage and support the development UX team on their projects
  • Execute performance reviews and regular one on ones with UX team members.
  • Enforce company design and security standards amongst the team
  • Participate in the hiring process for new UX team members
  • Participate in the Scrum process by grooming the backlog, enforcing scrum tenants, and communicating the process to their team
  • Holds aligned resources accountable for behaviors that support Empyrean’s policies and procedures
  • Provide expertise and additional support to enable team members to meet sprint commitments
  • Participate in third party or client meetings and fully articulate system functionality, architecture and coding for their responsible Manager area as well as able to integrate discussion to other areas

 

REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES  


  • Well-developed written, verbal communication skills- specifically documentation
  • Strong attention to detail; quality conscious, yet open, flexible to other's ideas, suggestions
  • Proven ability to meet deadlines and work effectively in a multi-tasking environment

 

KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE AND/OR EDUCATION


  • Bachelor’s degree preferred (or equivalent years of experience in computer science or completion of related boot camp program)
  • 6-8 years’ experience in UX designs
  • 6-8 years’ experience in CSS, HTML
  • 6-8 years’ experience in JavaScript frameworks
  • Prior experience in mobile hybrid platforms a plus.
  • Ability to demonstrate a strong user experience methodology
  • Working knowledge of browser and mobile technologies
  • Proficient in the use of development methodologies; e.g., Agile, Scrum
  • Prior experience in benefit program administration; knowledge of Health and Welfare processes a plus
