Company Description 

The Carrier Operations Business Systems Analyst is accountable for completing both vendor file feed development tasks and day to day operational tasks in support of vendor file feed implementations. The Carrier Operations Business Systems Analyst is responsible for ensuring that all work delivered to the client service team is configured accurately per the vendor’s requirements and Empyrean’s best practices.   
 
 
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES: 
 
The Carrier Operations Business Systems Analyst is accountable for completing both vendor file feed development tasks and day to day operational tasks in support of vendor file feed implementations. The Carrier Operations Business Systems Analyst is responsible for ensuring that all work delivered to the client service team is configured accurately per the vendor’s requirements and Empyrean’s best practices.  In addition, the Carrier Operations Business Systems Analyst is also responsible for managing the tasks he/she is assigned.  The Carrier Operations Business Systems Analyst role requires a solid process and technical orientation, analytical skills to assist in the resolution of complex client file issues, strong personal accountability, and effective communication skills.
Primary Responsibilities:
• Assist with gathering of feed requirements and/or configure carrier export feeds according to requirements
• Timely and accurate delivery of export file feeds during test rounds and other deliverables (including configuration).
• Consistent focus on testing and QA and transferring that to client service teams.
• Create client specific data checks, and resolve issues discovered during data validation.
• Seek additional ways to improve operations (quality, cost, efficiency) by driving process automation, standardization, controls, and first-time quality
• Create and maintain complete and accurate Processing Guides for all assigned deliverables
• Perform research and data analysis utilizing SQL, Excel, etc.
• Analyze and understand system requirements for benefit administration work.
• Create, execute, and maintain accurate and detailed test plans for all unit and new system functionality testing
• Build trusted client partnerships
• Build trusted vendor partnerships
• Protect client’s personal data
 
 
 
 
KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE AND/OR EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
 
• Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required
o In lieu of Bachelor’s degree, equivalent years of experience in business analytics, management information systems, human resources management, benefits administration or a related field 
 
• 1-3 year’s benefits administration business analyst related experience
• Strong SQL skills
• Strong technical skills
• Prior vendor export feeds experience helpful but not required
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Strong documentation skills
• Strong attention to detail and quality conscious, yet open and flexible to others ideas and suggestions
• Works well in a collaborative environment with several team members.
• Client service oriented
• Proven ability to meet deadlines and work effectively in fast-pace multi-tasking environment
• Strong benefits knowledge
