JOB SUMMARY:
Secure our Lease and Rental Accounts receivable via the lien laws of the states that our equipment operates in. Provide job payoffs for leased and rented equipment to Account Managers, Credit Managers, and clients as needed. Minimize losses to the company by providing high quality preliminary notices that may be executed if necessary. Support the Credit Department by assisting internal and external clients. Provide lien law and bond claim information to Account Managers and Credit Managers.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Review completed pre-liens daily for accuracy. Update existing pre-liens with location changes and amend prelien amounts as necessary. Monitor outstanding prelien requests for timeliness and maintain systems as necessary.
- Prepare waivers and collect pertinent data for record storage. Discuss project options with clients and refer them to appropriate Credit Manager as necessary.
- Make recommendations and advise Credit Managers of Empire’s lien or bond claim rights during collection process of rental invoices.
- Prepare Bond and Lien Claims as necessary with direction Legal department, Director of Credit and Credit Manager.
- Gather data and prepare management reports as necessary.
- Identify potential problems and recommend corrective action.
- Review active Rental Risk reports and advise Credit Managers of past due rental invoices.
- Maintain integrity of Rental Risk data and ensure that job locations are consistent.
- Administer credit card processing platform. Maintain active users and recommend changes to procedures as necessary.
- Assist credit managers with research and reconciliation of troubled or difficult accounts.
- Maintain personal working knowledge of state Lien Laws and the Bond Claim process. Attend seminars and continuing education classes and workshops to maintain current knowledge.
- Provide Credit Department notary services.
- Work safely at all times. Adhere to all applicable safety policies. Comply with all company policies, procedures, and standards.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Conduct training for Empire personnel and attend meetings to participate in informal discussions as requested.
- Perform general credit department duties and serve as a backup for other department duties as necessary (answer incoming calls, account research, letters, process applications, and trade references) as time permits.
- Work within and promote corporate values.
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Must have knowledge of Lien Laws of states where Empire operates.
- Must have interpersonal skills to professionally assist customers and employees in widely varied activities.
- Must be able to analyze customer account information to correctly determine credit worthiness.
- Must be able to learn, understand, and improve the credit account collection system to efficiently manage credit receivables.
- Must have strong verbal and written communications skills as required in customer and inter-departmental contact.
- Ability to maintain consistent attendance.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Proof of high school diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in general business, finance, credit and/or accounting experience and/or education to perform credit and accounting responsibilities.
- Registered notary preferred.
- Must be able to communicate (speak, read, comprehend, write) in English.
