$41,993 - $70,127 per year

 

JOB SUMMARY: 

Confirm and validate all Department of Transportation (DOT) documentation and ensure Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) compliance as it pertains to the Electronic Logging Device (ELD) and supporting documents. Provide training to end-users, conduct data analysis of Commercial Motor Vehicle (CMV), GPS and ELD information. Share critical events with leaders and make recommendations gathered from the data.  Manage ELD inventory and coordinate installation of equipment.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Maintain records with a high degree of accuracy. Compile reports from various transport systems utilizing research and statistical compilations involving a basic understanding of CMV related information, programs, policies and procedures.
  • Maintain communication and coordinate the shipment of new and defective ELDs. Compile and maintain records concerning devices.
  • Coordinate the installment and maintenance of ELD systems, hardware, and software.
  • Manage ELDs to ensure all drivers credentials and files are compliant with the FMCSA.
  • Monitor the in-cab video system for proper function, critical events, driver, and truck data to ensure driver assignment.
  • Analyze reports and investigate, problem solve and determine compliant options on electronic logging functions, hours of service compliance and documents needed for compliance of Department of Transportation.
  • Track and report concerns and violation patterns, issues, and risks daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annually.
  • Assess data for violation trends. Recommend training, intervention, and other corrective action measures.
  • Advise and coach drivers in hours-of-service regulations, in-cab video systems and the use of the electronic logging systems.
  • Make recommendations on system improvements, changes, efficiencies.
  • Keep leaders informed of critical events.
  • Review driver logs to confirm compliance, proper completion of logs, truck speed, vehicle inspections, hours of service, check fuel stops, and other regulatory items.
  • Work safely at all times.  Adhere to all applicable safety policies.  Comply with all company policies, procedures, and standards.

 

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Prepare ad hoc statistical reports as needed.
  • Identify and resolve problems in a timely manner and gather and analyze information skillfully.
  • Process purchase orders according to policy and procedure.
  • Assist supervisor and management with any reporting.
  • Assist in any additional revenue vehicle data collection as needed from other departments and/or fleet manager.
  • Work within and promote corporate values.

 

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Strong knowledge of DOT regulations and compliancy requirements.
  • Strong computer literacy to learn and navigate various business systems.
  • Strong interpersonal skills sufficient to communicate with drivers and management.
  • Experience with ELD systems (both using and administering).
  • Ability to perform duties with speed and accuracy without immediate and constant supervision.
  • Working knowledge of personal computer systems and Microsoft Office with advanced skills in Excel. 
  • Ability to work with Excel formulas, analyze data and prepare reports and metrics.
  • Must be able to meet all safety requirements for applicable safety policies and use of all required safety equipment.
  • Must have acceptable attendance to meet all company standards and requirements.

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: 

  • Proof of high school diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
  • Minimum 3 - 5 years of administrative experience.
  • Previous experience in hours-of-service regulations.  ELD experience preferred.
  • Previous experience using office productivity software, such as Word, Excel, and Power Point.  Strong Excel skills and experience.
  • Must be able to communicate (speak, read, comprehend, write) in English.
