Overview: Dynamic Aviation seeks a seasoned Purchasing Manager to lead our procurement operations within the aviation-focused defense contracting sector. This pivotal role involves strategizing, sourcing, negotiating, and procuring materials, supplies, and services essential to our operations. The ideal candidate will champion Lean and Six Sigma methodologies to enhance procurement efficiency, reduce lead times, improve supplier quality, and optimize purchase price variance (PPV). A key focus will be on building and mentoring a high-performing procurement team aligned with world-class standards.​

Key Responsibilities:

1. Strategic Procurement Planning: Develop and implement procurement strategies that align with company objectives, emphasizing Lean and Six Sigma principles to streamline processes and eliminate waste.​
2. Supplier Management: Identify, evaluate, and cultivate relationships with suppliers who meet quality, cost, and delivery standards. Drive supplier rationalization and expansion initiatives to optimize the supply base.​
3. Negotiation and Contract Management: Lead contract negotiations to secure favorable terms, pricing, and service agreements, ensuring compliance with industry regulations and company policies.​
4. Team Development: Recruit, train, and mentor a procurement team committed to continuous improvement and operational excellence. Foster a culture that embraces Lean and Six Sigma methodologies.​
5. Performance Metrics: Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) such as lead time reduction, supplier quality improvement, and PPV. Implement corrective actions as necessary to achieve targets.​
6. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with engineering, operations, finance, and other departments to understand procurement needs and ensure timely support.​
7. Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all procurement activities comply with relevant regulations, including ITAR and EAR, and maintain an updated Approved Supplier List (ASL).​
8. Continuous Improvement: Analyze market trends and industry innovations to identify opportunities for cost savings and process enhancements. Lead initiatives to implement best practices in procurement.​
9. Risk Management: Assess and mitigate risks associated with the supply chain to ensure continuity and reliability.​

 Qualifications:

• Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain management, or a related field. A Master's degree or professional certifications (e.g., CSCP, CPSM, Lean Six Sigma) are advantageous.​
• Experience: Minimum of 5 years in procurement, preferably within the defense or aviation industry, with a proven track record of implementing Lean and Six Sigma methodologies.​
• Leadership Skills: Demonstrated ability to lead and develop high-performing teams focused on continuous improvement.​
• Analytical Abilities: Strong analytical skills to assess performance metrics and drive data-informed decisions.​
• Communication and Negotiation: Exceptional communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.​
• Technical Proficiency: Experience with procurement software, ERP systems, and e-procurement platforms.​
