Job Title: Supply Chain Director 

Location: Bridgewater, VA (onsite) 

 

Job Details:  Dynamic Aviation is seeking a seasoned Director of Supply Chain to oversee and optimize our comprehensive supply chain operations, encompassing procurement, inventory management, warehousing, logistics, and distribution. The ideal candidate will integrate Lean Six Sigma methodologies to enhance efficiency, reduce lead times, improve supplier quality, and manage Purchase Price Variance (PPV). Proficiency in implementing strategies such as Kanban, Min-Max inventory management, and line-side supply, alongside effective utilization of ERP/MRP systems, is essential.

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Supply Chain Development: Design and implement supply chain strategies that align with Dynamic Aviation's objectives, incorporating Lean Six Sigma principles to streamline processes and eliminate waste.
  • Team Leadership and Development: Lead, mentor, and develop a team of supply chain professionals, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence.
  • Supplier Relationship Management: Establish and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and vendors, negotiating contracts to secure favorable terms and ensuring the timely procurement of quality materials and services essential for aircraft maintenance and operations.
  • Inventory and Warehouse Management: Oversee inventory control processes, including demand forecasting and stock optimization, to support aircraft maintenance and flight operations. Implement Min-Max inventory management and Kanban systems to ensure efficient warehouse operations that comply with safety and regulatory standards.
  • Logistics and Distribution Oversight: Manage logistics and distribution networks to guarantee the timely and cost-effective delivery of materials and finished products, optimizing transportation and distribution strategies.
  • ERP/MRP System Utilization: Leverage ERP/MRP systems to enhance supply chain visibility, planning, and execution, ensuring data accuracy and process integration across all supply chain functions.
  • Performance Monitoring: Establish, monitor, and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) specific to supply chain operations, including inventory turns, PPV, and request-to-fulfill lead time, to identify areas for improvement and drive operational excellence.
  • Continuous Improvement Initiatives: Drive continuous improvement initiatives by implementing Lean Six Sigma methodologies to enhance supply chain processes, systems, and performance metrics.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all supply chain activities adhere to aviation regulatory requirements and industry standards, maintaining compliance with relevant laws and regulations.

 

Job Requirements:

  • Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, business administration, or a related field; a Master's degree or professional certifications (e.g., CSCP, CPSM, Lean Six Sigma) are preferred.
  • Experience: A minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in supply chain management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role within the aviation industry.
  • Industry Knowledge: Strong understanding of aviation procurement, logistics, inventory management, and demand planning principles and best practices.
  • Lean Six Sigma Proficiency: Demonstrated experience in implementing Lean Six Sigma methodologies, including Kanban, Min-Max inventory management, and line-side supply strategies, to drive process improvements.
  • Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in supply chain management software and ERP/MRP systems relevant to the aviation industry.
  • Analytical Abilities: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on continuous improvement and operational excellence.
  • Leadership Skills: Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of aviation industry supply chain requirements, regulations, and best practices.
