Job Purpose: The Strategic Sourcing Manager is responsible for selecting, evaluating, and managing contract opportunities as well as aircraft and other large inventory investments to achieve business objectives effectively. Leveraging data analytics and strategic sourcing principles, they assess various factors beyond cost and quality, such as risk, reliability, long-term compatibility, and intangible value of partnering with vendors.
Duties:
- Develop and implement investment strategies to maximize the value and performance of company assets
- Perform market research to identify strategic procurement opportunities that support the company’s fleet needs and part sales goals
- Conduct research and gather information to craft a negotiation strategy
- Review and evaluate proposed agreements and contracts to ensure they align with company needs and interests
- Create and maintain records of negotiations and agreements for future reference
- Partner with stakeholders, executive leaders and department heads to understand business needs
- Perform customer site visits with BD and/or PM teams to understand supply chain needs to analyze visibility and risk
- Communicate and negotiate with other parties involved in the negotiation process including, lawyers, experts, clients, and other stakeholders
- Additional duties as required
Skills/Qualifications:
- Sourcing experience required
- Proficiency with MS Office products and logistic software programs (experience with Pentagon preferred)
- HS Diploma or equivalent required
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong data analysis skills
- Ability to travel as needed
- Ability to succeed in a fast-paced, ever-changing production environment
- Previous experience in Logistics/Inventory for an aviation company (preferred)
