Job Description:
This role reports to the Florida MedFly (FMF) Base Manager and exists to provide leadership and guidance to FMF maintenance personnel; manage and perform required aircraft and equipment maintenance to support safe and effective operations; create and sustain successful relationships internally and externally; and provide safe and superior aviation services to customers.
Job Responsibilities:
- Work with and assist FMF Base Manager to manage all base maintenance activities, including:
- schedule & supervise all personnel who service, maintain, repair, and perform alterations on assigned aircraft;
- perform maintenance as required to meet mission demands; and
- ensure aircraft are available to meet customer needs, and meet or exceed company KPIs related to safety, operations, and departure reliability.
- Perform 30-day inventory checks and effectively manage equipment and parts inventory, anticipating items needed for all scheduled and programmed maintenance and ordering those items in a timely manner to minimize operational delays due to maintenance.
- Develop or sustain good working relationships with customers, FBO, and other service providers, acting as company/customer relationship representative with customer-requested tasks.
- Provide leadership and daily problem solving to direct reports, including providing necessary operations and safety training, creating work schedules, and ensuring personnel availability.
- Communicate all base hiring, tooling, training, and operations materiel needs to FMF Base Manager and Operations Manager, and all base quality needs to Director of Quality (DOQ) and Operations Manager to ensure maintenance quality meets or exceeds KPIs.
- Communicate critical information to company headquarters in a timely manner, to include aircraft status, maintenance paperwork, activity reports, and other data as required by management.
- Be familiar and keep current with FAA regulations, the GMM, company policies and procedures, (operating & aircraft maintenance) manuals, hazmat requirements, and base regulations.
- Communicate all applicable guidance or requirement changes to assigned personnel and ensure all maintenance personnel are performing duties according to same guidance and requirements.
- Ensure assigned aircraft (interior/exterior), GSE equipment, and facilities are clean, in good working order, and appearances meet or exceed Dynamic Aviation standards.
- Assist the FMF Base Manager as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualified Candidates will:
- Have a high school diploma or GED
- Possess a valid and current FAA A&P certificate
- Have 5 years or more of aircraft maintenance experience
- Demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills
- Be able to manage personnel and build quality professional relationships with both internal personnel and external customers, partners, and stakeholders
- Be willing and able to work overnight shifts and weekends as dictated by mission needs
- Have a demonstrated history of good teamwork, strong initiative, and being highly resourceful
- Have a demonstrated history of making decisions and solving problems with sound judgment
- Be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite software; specifically, Excel, Word and Outlook
- Have basic computer and data entry skills with an eye for detail
Exceptional Candidates will have:
- Prior aviation maintenance management experience
- King Air and/or turbine engine maintenance experience
- Inspection Authorization is preferred
- Familiarity and experience with maintenance and flight information
- A continuous-improvement mindset, always seeking greater operational efficacy and efficiency
- A budget-conscious focus, looking for ways to reduce process waste and operational costs
