Job Overview: This challenging opportunity is the “life blood” of the organization. In this key leadership role, it will be expected to pull a team together using techniques that will influence positivity and motivation. An entrepreneurial spirit and technical understanding are critical. By putting in place organized methodologies and metrics, beyond what is used today, the Senior Manager, Supply Chain will direct the material flow and logistics from point of order to delivery. The Senior Manager will operate with minimum direction and is responsible for the implementation of Lean Manufacturing practices within the manufacturing facility. Must have strong SAP skills. Successful candidates will have a deep understanding of how to communicate with the customers, has a solid business acumen and must be willing to roll up their sleeves and be part of the solution. With well over 500,000 square feet of operations housing a myriad of manufacturing processes, the successful candidate will have an appreciation of the big picture and overall operational protocol. 

 

 

Responsibilities:

  • The position reports to the Plant Manager.
  • Two Supply Chain Manager direct reports
  • Facilitate daily team communication meetings
  • Facilitate weekly staff meetings (L10 Meetings with Direct Reports)
  • Lead management in execution of a training matrix across levels
  • Ensure completion of semi-annual performance reviews and individual development plans.
  • Review and approve department time and attendance reporting, manage daily Indirect labor hours to achieve monthly goal
  • Support key process improvement initiatives, including FES, pull replenishment and structured delivery routes.
  • Ensure the supply chain team members consistently participate in plant preparedness and execution of TS 16949, internal/external & SOX Audits
  • Ensure plant material handling and storage practices are SAFE
  • Implement the SCM Basics and drive improvement in areas in which there are gaps actual and the world class standard
  • Manage SCM activities to achieve target goals in the SCM scorecard, ensuring corrective actions are added to the CI matrix to improve
  • Challenge team to ensure PFPE "A place for everything and everything in its place".
  • Facilitate the ERP (Electronic Requirement Planning) system parameters match the logistics plan to ensure the PFEP (Plan for Every Part) is accurate at all times. 
  • Oversee weekly inventory value and days on hand comparison to goal
  • Collaborate with Finance teams to establish inventory and freight forecasts
  • Review obsolescence value, claimable and non-claimable inventory and ensure claims are submitted in the customer systems prior to the deadlines.
  • Responsible to minimize premium freight, ensuring corrective actions are put in place for the root cause of avoidable unplanned freight.
  • Implement and revise a logistics plan provided by the 3PL is adhered to and continuously working to improve the utilization of trailers and the leveling of deliveries
  • Participate in upcoming launch reviews to ensure launch objectives are achieved
  • Manage the physical process to comply with corporate requirements and ensure record integrity

Requirements:

The ideal candidate will have/be:

 

  • Must have a bachelor’s degree in Business, SCM, Engineering, etc.
  • 5+ years’ experience in manufacturing environment
  • Lean toolkit application skills (value stream mapping, 5S, Kaizen, Kanban, Error proofing, SMED, team problem solving, etc.)
  • Current experience within a Warehouse Management System
  • Familiar with MRP systems (and customer systems SAP and Ford system experience preferred) and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Experience managing both hourly and salary employees
  • Knowledge of Lean and other continuous improvement tools such as kaizen and Six Sigma
  • Knowledge of and experience with Industry 4.0 concepts
  • Strong with data analytics
  • Exceptional people and leadership skills – involving continuous communication with both the customer and suppliers.
