Job Overview:
Reporting to the Plant Quality Manager, the Advanced Quality Engineer will be responsible for new product advance quality planning activities, quality roadmap implementation to achieve on-time successful launches, increased customer satisfaction and successful internal quality goals and objectives. This position will work closely with Launch Management, Product Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering and Plant Quality and Operations personnel.
Major Accountabilities and Responsibilities:
- Lead/develop and implement key quality systems and work closely with Launch team on product and process design from development through SOP (PFMEA, control plan, work instructions, PPAP packages)
- Ensure customer requirements are incorporated into product functional specifications and lead risk and failure analysis to assure requirements are met
- Provide process validation support. Develop and provide input to process validation protocols
- Work with the Launch / Program Management teams to achieve a robust validated process
- Builds organizational capability across the quality function
- Ensures deployment of EO’s Quality Planning tools and provides input into the development plans of plant quality tam members
- Develop a process to incorporate launch lessons learned into production processes and lessons learned in production into launches checklists
- Analyze warranty returns to improve future launches and educate customer as appropriate
- Help to develop key subcomponent suppliers
- Support key launch activities and builds
- Manage significant issues with use of PDCA documents and customer forms
- Ensure team feasibility of new technologies
Required Skills/Education/Experience:
The ideal candidate will possess the following skills/qualifications:
- Bachelors’ Degree - preferably Engineering preferred
- Formal Training in Quality
- A minimum of (7) years of experience in quality management or quality planning
- Proven record of improvements in the quality area
- Strong organizational, problem solving, resource management and time management Ability to lead and motivate teams.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Able to work in a cross-functional team.
- Experience in the following:
- New Product Development,
- Advanced Quality Planning,
- AQP tools training: DFMEA, PFMEA, DOE, TQM, SPC etc.
