Position Overview:
The Supply Chain Intern will be responsible for inputting and updating supply chain data in the ERP (SAP) system, maintaining accurate inventory records, and assisting in resolving supplier-related issues under supervision. This role provides a practical learning experience in supply chain management, ERP systems, and inventory control, along with the opportunity to achieve specific performance metrics throughout the internship.
Key Responsibilities:
- ERP Data Management: Input and update supply chain data in ERP (SAP) systems, ensuring that information is accurate, up-to-date, and compliant with company standards.
- Inventory Records Maintenance: Maintain and verify inventory records, regularly checking for discrepancies and ensuring data accuracy.
- Issue Resolution: Assist in resolving supplier-related issues under supervision, collaborating with team members to address any disruptions in the supply chain.
- Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements in data entry or inventory management and propose solutions to enhance efficiency.
- Communication: Provide regular updates to team members and supervisors on task progress, participate in team meetings, and communicate any issues or delays promptly.
Performance Metrics:
- KPI: Percentage of Accurate Data Entries in ERP System
- Goal: Achieve a data entry accuracy rate of 95% or higher by the end of the internship.
- KPI: Percentage of Tasks Completed on or Before the Deadline
- Goal: Complete 95% of assigned tasks on time, ensuring prompt updates to inventory records and ERP data.
- KPI: Number of Suggestions or Improvements Proposed and Implemented
- Goal: Propose at least 2 process improvements related to data entry or inventory management, with at least 1 being implemented.
- KPI: Quality and Frequency of Communication with Team Members and Supervisors
- Goal: Regularly participate in team meetings, provide status updates, and effectively communicate any issues or delays.
Qualifications:
- Education: Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- ERP Proficiency: Familiarity with ERP systems, preferably SAP, and an understanding of data management and inventory control.
- Analytical Skills: Strong analytical skills with attention to detail, particularly in data entry and accuracy.
- Problem-Solving: Ability to assist in resolving supplier-related issues and identifying process improvements.
- Organizational Skills: Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office: Experience with Excel, Word, and PowerPoint is essential; familiarity with inventory management software is a plus.
